Summary: Visiting in September allowed us to see the colors begin to change! The Sonnenalp staff goes above & beyond to meet your needs! We had never been the Vail and did have questions about directions, locations, transportation, etc! The concierge was amazing in not only providing guidance but also making arrangements to make our stay so much more enjoyable! We hiked, rode the gondola, shopped, ate at so many of the area restaurants so easily accessible by walking, visited Ford Park, went horseback riding at Vail Stables, and more! So much to do—our 4- night stay was perfect, but we can’t wait to return in the winter. The housekeeping staff was so attentive! Our room always smelled so clean! Honestly, the entire property looked and smelled clean and fresh! The restaurants for breakfast, lunch and dinner were so good—staff was engaging and great to talk with as well. I must admit, when making our initial decision to book we were deciding between the Sonnenalp & another very high-end, well known property. We consistently said how happy we were that we chose the Sonnenalp!! Can’t wait to return!!!

Summary: We always enjoy our stays at the Sonnenalp. The bell service was particularly good, especially Jacob from Alabama and the other guy from Minnesota. We normally love eating at the Bully Ranch but our server had to leave midway through our meal and the person who took over did absolutely nothing. We had to track him down just to get our check. And the service in the hotel was particularly slow this time around. These things, while normally just minor frustrations, are compounded because we have a medically complex child and having to wait or go without because no one is following up can be very challenging. Given the cost of the hotel and its location, we do expect fantastic service. We were disappointed this time around, and may try another hotel next time as a result.
