Summary: Good checkin communication prior to our arrival. Very comfortable 3 rooms included bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette/dining. Off road parking on the property was good although a little cramped for our large landcruiser. Would stay again.

Summary: The Sunset Suite in Sonja's B&B made a refreshing change from our usual motel stays. The unit was spotlessly clean and well equipped for our needs, even if the en suite was a little 'bijou'. We had booked 2 nights but only stayed 1 as no-one told us that most of Lightning Ridge's attractions, shops and restaurants close down 'for the season'. This is no reflection on Sonja's as we would have been very happy to stay there.

Summary: My first morning there property staff greeted me by asking where I was from and immediately attempting to engage me in a discussion about politics. I’m on holiday, not interested. My room was switched before I got there but that room was locked. The room available to me had all the windows opened with the AC running when I arrived so it was very hot. After closing the windows, the AC couldn’t keep the space cool. The shower is tiny. The amenities are all dated.

Summary: Excellent ,really excellent, it was very hot in lightning ridge 42c when we arrived but the air conditioning in the room was fabulous. Very quiet and peaceful location, all the local amenities within easy reach

Summary: We had a lovely stay at Sonja’s - we stayed in a miners suite which had parking right outside, there was a separate kitchenette with the essentials to make a light breakfast and prepare lunch. The bedroom was well appointed with dresser type space to keep our toiletries out of the small bathroom plus medications etc. The aircon was a bit noisy but efficient in the summer heat. The only thing is there wasn’t a PowerPoint on both sides of the bed, so I charged my phone in the kitchen. Insect repellent and tourism guides were supplied in the foyer. We didn’t get to meet the hosts but they were readily available by phone, if needed.
