Summary: It was such a treat to stay in this unique old house. The basement is built right into the rock hill! The house is comfortable and convenient even though it has seen so many years. The hosts did a great job decorating and taking care of it. We would love to come back on a warmer weekend and enjoy the yard.

Summary: We explored Harper’s Ferry and Antietam Battlefield over a beautiful fall weekend. Neither of us are history buffs and didn’t pay much attention to it in school so we learned quite a bit at the National Parks. The home was a perfect theme and location for our weekend. It was interesting to see how the people of the time lived but with modern amenities. We are both tall ladies, (5’11”) so we had to watch our heads. Stairs are steep and tight.

Summary: Wonderful home close to many attractions in western Maryland. It’s any easy drive into Harper’s Ferry, Sherpardstown, and it’s walking distance to the battlefield of Antietam. Check out Little Brick Coffee in the morning and if you enjoy wine visit Antietam Creek Winery. The house itself was like a trip to past with all the modern conveniences. It was very clean and despite being in town it was also very quiet. Thanks, we’ll definitely be back!
