Summary: The Antietam Overlook Inn is a wonderful B&B perfectly situated on a hilltop in the Maryland Piedmont, just minutes away from Antietam Nat'l Battlefiield, Sharpsburg MD and Shepherdstown WV. The wilderness setting is stunning -- I saw more wildlife in one hour drinking my morning coffee than I saw in an entire day in Shenandoah Nat'l Park. The staff prepared a delicious communal breakfast for the 3 couples staying that night along with us. Great for pets -- they have a Frenchie, a farm cat and an African Gray parrot. While we only stayed one night, I would absolutely return to this beautiful part of Appalachia for an extended stay.

Summary: I came in before dark - difficult day of traveling and very hungry. The owners were out, but a guest who stays there many times showed me around and introduced me to the other guests in the living room. I was so impressed with the decor and cozy environment. There was a fridge in the hallway where you can place your refrigerables in and you can tap into the free white wine A nice Keurig was present with a great selection to choose from. Snacks were present and very well welcomed. Breakfast was served at nine. We all sat comfo rtably together and the hosts provided us a wonderful meal.
