Summary: Five star experience all the way! The room was large and immaculate. The staff even set out the bedding for us while we were out at dinner. The hotel had not just one, not just two, but three fully separate onsen areas! Each had multiple baths and each had at an outdoor bath too! The dinner was fabulous. It’s a chef’s choice dinner so there are no choices or substitutions but high quality throughout. The only negative is the hotel is in the middle of nowhere but that’s not unusual for these onsen towns.

Summary: The hotel is situated in a beautiful location, surrounded by nature (if you don’t have a car then it takes a couple of hours to see the local sights). The rooms are traditional with great views, and super authentic. The set dinners and breakfasts are the best I’ve had, and were something to look forward to. There is a selection of onsens including the opportunity to hire private ones for those who aren’t confident of sharing more public pools. A highlight of the trip so far

Summary: If you decide to stay at Sansuiso, you have made the right decision. This is a beautiful onsen, with a variety of different type of waters, pools on the edge of the river. We stayed in the Japanese room which is always spacious and comfortable. Do yourself a favour and do the half board (or dinner) it will be one of the best meals you may have ever eaten. The staff is so friendly and helpful.

Summary: The baths have amazing views of the waterfalls. The reception staff were very helpful even with the language barrier. They used Google Translate Conversation to talk to us.

Summary: I was staying only one night, but it was one of the best. The Hotel staff tried their best even if they couldn't speak or understand english very well. It was good enough. Dinner and Breakfast was very delicious. But the best part is the surrounding area. Especially during autumn were the leaves begin to change colour. It was very beatiful.
