Positive: I had a wonderful stay at Sam’s Bungalow in Bukit Lawang. The property has a really peaceful and authentic jungle vibe, which made it the perfect retreat after days of exploring. I especially loved the location—right by the river, surrounded by lush greenery.

Positive: Amazing 1 week stay at Sam's bungalows! Sam and the team are great, both friendly and considerate. The crew definitely made my stay better than I could have anticipated. The location is also great, on the quieter, lusher and more picturesque part of Bukit Lawang. It is stunning here, you may see orangutans across the river at breakfast. The rooms was also fantastic, very lucky to have found accommodation that has hot water and aircon, and all extremely clean and comfortable. Anything I needed, all I did was ask and it was provided. It was so easy get everything organized too - the accommodation, the jungle trek, elephant walk, village tour, flower tour and all the delicious meals. Would definitely stay again, in fact, would want to come back just to stay at Sam's!

Summary: Amazing host and team, coupled with great accommodation (aircon!) and beautiful surroundings!

Positive: The owner and his staff are very, very friendly and helpful. Because of a problem with the toilet they’ve offered us an upgrade. The room was really nice and very clean. And the food and drinks are delicious. Everything we’ve tried from the menu was really good. We recommend this!!

Positive: Great location near the river and right by our trek guides. Friendly staff and super helpful since we arrived close to midnight. Great, clean large room with mosquito nets and a balcony. Good shower too. Good Wi-Fi too.

Positive: A great place to stay. Rooms were clean and beds very comfy. We booked several hikes, a massage, and ate all our meals here during our visit to Bukit Lawang. The hikes will remain some of our very best memories ever. The staff, both within the guesthouse, and our hiking guides, and our driver to and from Medan were all wonderful. I have wanted to see the Orangutans for some years, and this trip fulfilled that for me. As a bonus we got to see the world’s largest flower, as it happened to bloom while we were there. Loved the monkey parade past our balcony each day. Sam runs an excellent business and manages a great team.

Positive: I will tell you what to do: 1. Learn English 2. Buy flight tickets 3. Buy some rupees 'Uncle Sam' takes care of everything else (airport transportation, food, drinks, trekking, traveling in the forest... whatever comes to your mind). Opening your window curtains and seeing the Rainforest and the river... I'll be honest, I didn't expect this much. It was an incredible experience for me.
