Positive: Ryokan Kono-Yu is the definition of impeccable service. Besides taking care of us during our stay, they also managed to arrange a taxi for us to go to see a shrine 1h away. (With very short notice) They held our luggage for us during our little excursion and picked us up in kurokawa and drove us to our bus station after. (This was after we had already checked out) so they really make sure their guests are taken care of. The food was extraordinary and really beautifully prepared, but if you don’t eat seafood and aren’t an adventurous “foodie” you will not be able to eat everything. Regardless, you won’t go hungry because there was a lot of food served during our dinner seating.
Summary: First ryokan for us and it set the bar high!

Positive: The staff are attentive to details and able to communicate in English. They drove us to the onsen street after we had checked out and later on brought us our puggages so that we have a hassle free morning and spent our time freely in the onsen street. Thanks for their thoughtful offerings.
Negative: Hopefully, we should stay one more night there.

Positive: We loved our stay at Ryokan Kono-Yu. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable. With our own in room Onsen we were very happy. The breakfast and dinner meals each day were delicious. The staff were very helpful and helped us coordinate a day trip to Mt Aso and bus tickets to Oita. We especially appreciated the assistance provided by Atari who served our meals and helped us plan our bus tickets.
