Positive: Beautiful property on the coast in Queimada surrounded by nature (great star gazing on a clear night) and with a direct view of Mount Pico and Faial. Absolute tranquility, first class installations and very kind and helpful hosts.

Negative: Although close to Velas, you absolutely need a car.

Summary: The accommodation highlight of my trip to the Azores.

Positive: From the moment Rui met us at the airport, to the final day of our wonderful stay at Rui and Lena’s beautiful, large, comfortable and secluded house, everything was as close to ideal as one could hope. The house is situated at the end of a large bluff, with spectacular and unobstructed views of the ocean and town of Velas. In fact, even the view from the kitchen is magnificent. The accommodations were excellent, everything seems designed and planned for the visitors’ comfort. And Rui and Lena treat you almost like family, making the visit even more pleasant. What’s more, if you need a car and driver, you can’t do better than Rui, who knows every site, every restaurant, and it seems like every person in Velas. We are very happy to highly recommend Rui and Lena’s house in Velas.

Positive: Everything about this place is incredible -- the house, the views, and the hospitality. The bedroom is large, bright, and comfortable, but guests also have the use of the rest of the gorgeous villa, too -- the kitchen, dining room, living areas, terraces. The views of the neighboring islands are stunning. And Lina and Rui may be the kindest, sweetest hosts we have met in our many years of travel. Everything here is absolutely perfect.

Positive: The hosts were so kind, welcoming and just absolutely amazing! And we could not believe how magnificent the house was when we walked in. It blew us away! Our bedroom window had a great view of the mountain on pico and the ocean. We would definitely stay here again.

Positive: Amazing place in the best possible location!! to wake up with the amazing sea view with dolphins playing and the majestic pico montain in front is just something out of this world!! on top of that, Rui and Lina where beyond amazing in the way they welcomed us and made us feel at ease!!

Positive: The hosts Lina and Rui are the most warm and accommodating people, it felt like we stayed with family. The views from the dining room every morning watching to see if we could spot some dolphins while we ate breakfast was one of a kind. The location was great as we were 3 minutes from the airport but we didn't have to drive down a mountain to get to the house. We loved sitting by the pool, either in the sun or under the pool house roof. Lina makes sure everything is spotless each day. This was such an enjoyable stay!

Negative: The bed was a little hard. Otherwise this place is perfect.
