Positive: The central location in the heart of the market was a lovely experience - being able to watch the locals going about their daily lives from the balcony and rooftop terrace was fascinating. The opportunity to stroll through the market and town was a highlight of our trip to Kratie. The rooms in the hotel were spotlessly clean and spacious. Alex was a great host and entertained us with his amusing stories as we chatted in the rooftop bar and restaurant. This is a lovely spot to watch the town at night and even if you’re not staying at Privada Lodge it’s well worth a visit.

Negative: There was a local wedding grown the road whilst we were staying which did get noisy at times but it had all finished by 10.00pm.

Positive: This is a unique hotel in a lovely town. It has an eclectic decor set in a beautiful old French building restored by the owner, Alex. Super cool sitting room, great rooftop for sunset drinks and only three bedrooms.

Negative: Not much, it can get a little noisy overnight.

Positive: Location amongst the bustling, bright market to see Khmer daily life. Excellent roof top overlooking the street life. Cool restoration of a colonial looking building. Boutique style with Asian/Khmer art, statues, furnishings. Kind of shabby chic.

Positive: Absolutely loved staying here in Kratié! Such a great spot for a first time visit. Feels homey with just 3 rooms, and just above the market where you can enjoy the street views from the super cool rooftop lounge and the balconies. The building is lovingly restored, retaining its original charm, plus it is painted in my favourite shade of green 😁 private tours to see the dolphins are available to book through the lodge as well and we would’ve loved to try the moto tour if we had an extra day. What’s always a big highlight is those I get to meet, and the owners, caretakers and 🐈🐈 (Mario and Croquette) were simply so warm and welcoming. Take some time to explore the tastefully decorated living space, and have an aromatic cup of coffee and chat with the owner Alex. We were so curious to know more about his unique collectibles, his experiences, and of course his unmissable motorbikes 😁 He’s a fantastic storyteller and is full of insights. The room itself is spacious, clean and everything I love in a good stay 😊 (Look no further!)

Positive: The decor is spectacular, as is the thoughtful renovation of the historic Cambodian architecture. Intriguing art pieces from Myanmar, a collection of motorcycles, delicate Japanese china - everyday you’ll notice something new. The location is above the central market for epic people watching of the daily transactions over stacks of colourful fruit and shiny fresh river fish. And, if you’re lucky, the rooftop bar & grill will be open the season your visit and you can dine under a canopy of bright stars. Dolphin and temple tours arranged by the host as well as minivans to get you to whatever town you’re headed to next. Pick this one.

Positive: This is a very stylish hotel with beautiful furnishings and a great location near Kratie market. I stayed there for three nights and I slept like a dream and was well taken care of. I borrowed a bicycle for both days and it was in good shape so I was able to cover about 60km with no bother. The coffee was also delicious! The room is spacious, very clean and has everything you need. You can also arrange tours here if you are new to the area. I have absolutely no hesitation recommending Privada Lodge as a place to stay and, when I'm back in Kratie, I will stay here again. Thank you!
