Positive: Very pretty, well furnished, stylish and comfortable cottage. Our daughter announced it her 'dream home.' Lovely countryside with lots of footpaths. Amazing place for walking our dog - a truly beautiful spot. Newbury has most amenities (coop and pharmacy) but sadly The Eagle pub, which was in walking distance has closed down. We opted to follow a recommendation by a local and drove to The Talbot in Mells, which was exceptional. We had a lovely stay. Thank you

Negative: We tried following the instructions that came through via email, but there were a lot and then lack of internet access on our phones let us down when we got close by so the direct access link/app didn't work for us and I had to call the owner, sorry. The owner kindly helped us over the telephone/via the Ring doorbell so we got there in the end. The property is referred to as Lobster the Barn, Bumblebee Cottage and its sign says The Barn so a bit more clarity there would be good. We were unsure of what to look for. Once we'd accessed the property, we opted to use the back door and key so as not to have to decipher the app. I'm afraid I got frustrated trying to find and turn off lights. A master switch would have been appreciated. Sorry I realise that I come across as a complete technophobe - my husband and I both work in IT so I guess we wanted to keep it simple when we were on holiday.

Positive: We liked the Barn. It was stylishly decorated with cool art work and was a fantastic use of space. The location is lovely and peaceful, lovely bijou garden for the warmer months and generally lots to like.

Negative: Having stayed in numerous holiday lets over the years, I can honestly say this one was disappointing in terms of not feeling welcomed. There was no welcome package at all, not even a pint of milk. If you arrive late and have to go back out to a shop, that’s a reverse in the dark, down the s shaped driveway. Lighting around the outside was not great. The neighbours were rude to us and we have no idea why at all.

Positive: Beautiful place, peaceful garden, well decorated and organised with QR codes etc. Lovely cosey homely feel. Amazing use of space.

Negative: It was a little tricky to find the property but I understand why it is not massively sign posted. Having to reverse down the steep drive was tricky. There was no room to turn around at the top unfortunately

Positive: Very clear instructions for everything: getting there, parking, opening doors with the app, facilities Nice and very secluded place Property with a distinctive style and plenty of helpful features (spare wellies, four umbrellas next to the entry doors, movie streaming service, bunch of board games and books, well equipped kitchen, outdoor sitting area with the BBQ, etc)

Negative: There could be more space to make reversing the car easier
