Positive: The location was perfect. The view of the river from the living room was great to wake up to. Kitchen had everything we needed.

Negative: The bed is uncomfortable and there is a constant smell of frying fish from the restaurant in the back.

Positive: The views from the beautiful living room of the Douro River, the Dom Luis Bridge and the sights of Port wine cellars are fantastic. The location is superb. In the midst of things yet very quiet. The kitchen and bathroom are well equipped even for longer stays and home cooking.

Negative: The property is hidden in a little unknown alley. Once you find it, it is great. The convenience of handling everything remotely lead to snafus for us … luckily for no one else before us. It took us multiple attempts to enter our passport data into a capricious website. The front door to the building didn’t open at several attempts. And the coded entry door handle resisted our attempts at first. Maria and Filipe are very responsive and will have rewritten instructions for klutzes like us. The bedroom is fine, a bit tight and dark. Overhead light would remedy that feeling.

Negative: Overall a great stay. Minor suggestions: It would have been nice to have a few coffee pods to get started as a welcome. Also, rug in bedroom made it difficult to open closet door.

Positive: Standing at sun bathing balcony and marveling at picturesque view of Douro river. Many good books on the shelves including some that broadened my understanding to Porto architecture and history. Management also answered my questions promptly.

Negative: The sagging mattress may need to be replaced. Should provide more coffee capsules, at least two per person per day. No drying towels for dishes.
