Positive: We loved our stay! Room was quite large, with enough space for all our things. Nicely renovated bathroom. Kitchen across the hall with all utensils for our use, which we enjoyed after a long hiking day, to make tea and sit down for supper. Breakfast was served in a neighboring house, in absolutely charming adjacent little cottage. Breakfast itself was very good, we appreciated especially the strong coffee. The owner is very welcoming and communicative, overall we were quite happy that we picked this place as part of our hike in the Bohemian-Saxon Switzerland.

Negative: For us the mattresses were too soft, but we slept quite good anyway.

Positive: The host was amazing. He speaks excellent English and showed wonderful hospitality. We had a great conversation at the dining table during breakfast. I was really impressed by his stories and the local knowledge he shared. I would highly recommend staying there.

Negative: A little hard to find at first and had to ask a kind person in town how to find it. However, the town is quite small, so everyone knows where everything is.

Positive: We arrived earlier than expected, and the owner was kind enough to let us store our bags until the room was ready. When it was, he even helped us carry our belongings to the room. The breakfast was locally made, and the owner proudly mentioned it was freshly prepared by a neighbor, which really highlighted the sense of community in the area. The way locals worked together to serve tourists and hikers added something special to the experience. While the location was close to the train station, it did take a 15-minute walk to reach the ferry crossing, but even that felt worthwhile in the end.

Negative: It's hard to pinpoint any real dislikes, but one thing to note is that it’s a good idea to bring your own medical supplies and basic medicines. The nearest drugstore isn't easily reachable, and most stores close on Sundays, which can make it difficult to find what you need in an emergency.

Positive: My sister and I loved our stay at Alpenrose. Our host Robin was so friendly and welcoming. Great location, comfortable room, and delicious breakfast in the morning. A detail that I will remember: names of flowers instead of room numbers! I will gladly come back :)
