Positive: The accommodation is in Schmilka and is a perfect spot if you do the Malerweg or want to visit Saxon Switzerland. The host is very chatty and lovely. You will feel welcomed straight away and even as a non German speaking tourist you will be able to hear and talk about everything you like. The room was huge and the beds were very comfy. It was near the river Elbe and the ferry.

Positive: Robin was very friendly, welcoming and entertaining! He even drove us to the next town when there was a transport strike so we could cross the bridge and continue our hike! The room was clean and comfortable and breakfast was good with great, strong coffee

Positive: The location in Schmilka was fantastic. What made our stay here was the host Robin. He was very warm and welcoming at breakfast and had all the guests laughing. The room was a great size and right on the Malerweg for hiking
Negative: It wasn't clear what room we were supposed to stay in on arrival as we let ourselves in and had not been given a room name but this was something very minor on a great stay!

Positive: Room was big, with en suite. Didn't mind the steep stairs. Quiet location. There's a pay-and-display car park across the main road. Breakfast was OK; met and chatted with other travellers at communal table.
Negative: No info sent so had to call on arrival to find our room (owner was away). It wasn't warm in the night and duvets were very thin. Wardrobe just had a single extra blanket and we were three in the room; pillows not so comfortable; we didn't sleep so well. Didn't enjoy being asked to pay additional money next morning - tourist tax, levied on each guest, inc. kids (I'd assumed all that stuff was included in price, as it has been for any other place we've stayed - gotta check the small print!). Place is pretty dead after 7.30 - no food/bars.
Summary: It was OK overall but the extra blankets is a quick fix
