Positive: its located in maskeliya a small village between the 2 lakes and our rooms were facing the lake and adams peak which is an amazing site day and night. its half hour drive from Adam's peak if you want to climb it or just go the the cafes near it. same amount of time from gartmore falls- lower and upper. the rooms were huge and modern, very comfortable beds and showers with hot water. coffee tea and water were supplied. the only thing is there are not alot options for food at the village. we had breakfast at the hotel which was great and in the eveing there was a hotel/ restaurant they made everything on the spot and grew their own vegetables it took along time but the food was great. its a great area for hiking in nature a but undiscovered so harder to find the routes. most tourist atraction is next to casterleigh reservoir and through the resorts around it(much more expensive )

Summary: great place if you want to hike and its not very touristic very pretty

Positive: The location was convenient, we were on our wY to Gartmore and this was a comfy, beautiful spot to break journey. The view was just incredible, staff who served us ..a lady, Ishara? was efficient, cheerful and helpful. Room was spacious, beds comfortable 😌

Negative: Could have been great if there was a hiking trail to the reservoir, to keep busy for longer stays.

Summary: Far from the maddening crowd.

Positive: At first, I thought adding Maskeliya to our itinerary might have been a mistake—but staying here completely changed my mind. The staff made our journey unforgettable, and I have to give a huge shoutout to Ishara and Uyagantha—they were truly amazing! Now let’s talk about the food—oh my god, it was hands down the best food we had during our 24-day road trip across Sri Lanka. The flavours were absolutely mind-blowing! Breakfast was served on the balcony with stunning views of Adam’s Peak and the lake—such a magical experience. Communication with the team was effortless. They arranged all our tours and took care of every detail for us. Just ask for Ishara and they’ll handle everything. The room was spacious, with a lovely balcony and a breathtaking view. We are 100% coming back, no doubt about it—mainly because of the amazing staff.

Negative: The only downside was the mould in the bathroom and room—it was quite overwhelming and really needs to be addressed. The smell hits you right as you walk in, and it made using the toilet unpleasant. I really hope this is fixed by the time we return.

Positive: Clean and spacious rooms. Great views from the terrace in the morning. Best traditional breakfast we have had in Srilanka in 3 weeks! Incredibly warm hospitality from husband and wife running the lodge - highly recommend!

Positive: Views from the place are amazing. Management were lovely, super friendly and helped us with everything we wanted. Go to Gartmore falls if you can :)

Negative: Room had an adjoining door to another balcony so wasn't the most sound proof but they did everything they could to help make it quiet.
