Positive: The location was excellent, in a quiet part of Maskeliya. Just the sound of birds in the mornings. Right out the door you can walk in the tea fields above the lake with great views of waterfalls and Adam's Peak. It's a great base to climb Adam's peak and the Pekoe trail nearby was very senic. The bathroom and room was very clean and I slept very comfortably. The host was very knowledgeable of the area and always had things for me to do, and did a lot to contact bus drivers and train stations to confirm times and organize my transportation. I felt right at home there and they all provide really excellent service day and night.
Negative: Nothing it was a lovely experience.
Summary: Peaceful rest at tea fields with great hiking and scenery nearby.

Positive: Walking along the lake, heading towards the Gartmore Waterfall. The owner walked with me among tea fields towards to Gartmore falls along the lake together with two foreigners from Germany. Thanks to all of them.
Summary: Perfect place. Very silent location. Food, Hot Water and cleanliness perfect.

Positive: Great host, always trying to help us figure out how to get around and have a nice time! They offered us lots of delicious Sri Lankan food for lunch (with fruits, veges, and coffee from their backyard!) in the family home. Whenever we needed a taxi/tuktuk, they connected us, and when we went camping, they even sent someone who lived in the area to make sure we arrived to the campgrounds safely! And since it was a holiday in Sri Lanka, there weren't many taxis running, so the host generously drove us to our next destination himself (2.5hrs to Kandy!). He invited us to his family's traditions for New Years and introduced us all. They allowed us to extend our stay without issues, and they gave us a bigger room than we expected for the same price since it was available. The room was very clean with mosquito net, toilet paper, balcony, warm water shower, air conditioning, warm blankets for the cold nights, and peaceful common outdoor seating area. If we're ever in Maskeliya again, we'll be coming here again. Can't recommend it enough!

Positive: Hemantha was the best host! He made me and my friends feel really welcome and did everything he could to help us. The rooms are basic but have everything you need and are nice, and the place is in the middle of this beautiful area. I will definitely come back to Maskeliya and Hemantha!

Positive: Good contact with the owner family, especially his daughter. good advices about hikes around. This place is mostly great to be in a quiet environment and also to hike (close from devon waterfalls and Pekoe trail section n°8)!

Positive: Hemantha, the proprieter was incredibly thoughtful and caring. A genuine example of SL hospitality. He not only fed me like a king with the best SL food, but shared immense knowledge about the region including the tea plantations and the stunning lake with huge twin waterfalls. 12klms to Adam's peak, and similar distance to Gartmore and Moray Falls this village has everything you need to ensure a relaxed time. This is Sri Lanka!
