Positive: The property is extremely beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The room was super comfy with everything we need provided. Walking around in nature hearing the birds was very nice.

Negative: Wifi didn’t work properly. Would have been nice to have more breakfast options.

Positive: What we liked: Amazing location with excellent view. Calm and quiet property. Very good rooms. What we didn’t like: 1. Extremely depressing breakfast. Limited spread and that too tasteless food. 2. A mobile device was given at the time of checking in for communication with the front office/f&b/housekeeping, emergency, etc. Alas! None of the contact numbers saved on the instrument worked during the 3 days stay. To order something, every time we had to walk to the front office. Even to get replenishment of water, we had to walk to reception 3. Limited food menu with extremely limited room service. In fact, they were always reluctant to provide room service. Food timing for breakfast, lunch and dinner were a window of 2 hours each which was little too short, specially since the property is located almost an hour away from the mainstream township. If we miss any of these timing, then we would be left with no choice for food. 4. While two of the gentlemen at the front office were pleasant and cooperative, one of the ladies was clueless, expressionless and remotely related to hospitality - she didn’t even have a smile on her face. While I was explaining the difficulties we faced, during the mid of our conversation she just walked away and never showed up again. If you are not a foodie and more interested in staying inside the rooms, without having any kind of activities, then this place is good for long hours of sleeping and relaxing. The only activity was an hour long walk into the coffee plantation. And the only pleasant thing that is worth mentioning is Mr Sampath, the guide. WARNING: If you are looking for a family vacation with aged people and small kids, then Old Kent is certainly NOT the place you should opt for.
