Just a stone's throw (less than 45 feet) from the ocean's edge, our tranquil cottage offers an unparalleled view of the charming lobstering village of Bass Harbor. Here, you'll be immersed in the quintessential Maine experience, with the salty sea breeze on your skin and breathtaking 180-degree vistas of the harbor and ocean. Whether you're indoors or outdoors, you'll be captivated by the mesmerizing wildlife and the rhythmic ebb and flow of the sea. Follow the meandering stone footpath down to our 175-foot private rocky beach.
Perched right on the waterfront, our cottage gives you the sensation of being on a boat.
A short 5-minute drive takes you to Southwest Harbor, home to exceptional dining options. Explore charming shops, wine and cheese stores, ice cream parlors, and bike rentals, all just minutes from our haven. Bass Harbor is known as the "Quiet Side" of Mount Desert Island, offering a peaceful escape from the tourist crowds of Bar Harbor, which is a scenic 30-minute drive away. Our neighborhood is serenely quiet and filled with friendly locals.
Our cottage accommodates a maximum of 2 guests, making it ideal for adult couples or solo travelers. Please note that it is not suitable for children or those traveling with pets.
We prioritize cleanliness with utmost dedication. Freshly laundered sheets and duvet covers await you in the bedrooms, with duvet covers being laundered after every guest.

Our property is in Bass Harbor, a cozy village close to popular spots like Acadia National Park, Southwest Harbor, and Seawall. It's a short drive to the Ship Harbor trail and Wonderland Trail. You can easily walk to Bass Harbor boat excursions and the Swan's Island ferry. The house is at the end of a private road in a very small, quiet community.

Summary: The view of Bass Harbor is spectacular calming and varies with the tide, making it all the more interesting . The cottage is well furnished with up to date equipment. I arrived during a snow storm and left on a sunny and windy day. All very exciting especially since the cottage is well insulated and the heating system works well

Summary: What a little gem! My husband and I arrived just before dusk and were greeted by the welcoming committee of deer on the drive in. The eagle on the shore the morning we left was a bonus. The cottage is exactly as described and exactly what we were looking for for our weekend getaway. It is a perfect place to relax while still being able to explore the region with the cottage as a home base. Brice was responsive and accommodating. We couldn't ask for anything more. We plan on returning next year!

Summary: As VRBO owners ourselves, we have high standards and were wowed!!! We had an incredible stay at this beautifully well-designed Scandanavian home! Newly renovated, spotlessly clean, and spacious. It is located directly on Bass Harbor waterfront to enjoy spectacular sunsets with your favorite beverage or watch the boats over coffee from Adirondack chairs. It was so relaxing to come “home” after sightseeing & hiking in Acadia. The host, Brice has thought of everything - a fully stocked kitchen including kurig, bath with nice towels, shampoo/conditioner & soap, picnic table & grill to dine outside. His communication was friendly & clear, with easy to follow instructions. The attention to details shows that he truly cares about providing an outstanding experience! The house is in an area described by locals as the “Quiet Side”, away from heavy tourist areas. For those seeking privacy but great access to Acadia, you just found it! We loved being on a private dead end and seeing deer in the driveway, and watching the moonlight dance on the water each night! Highly recommended for honeymoon, anniversary, or romantic getaway!!! Thanks Brice for our 5-star experience! We can’t wait to return next year!
