Summary: Although the rooms are pretty basic, they are very spacious and clean with a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area and the beach. Location was quite good as it was walking distance to bars and restaurants, but far away enough that it was very quiet and peaceful.

Summary: We stayed at Ocean View Cottage for 8 eight nights, making day trips to surroundings (Yala, whale watching, turtle nursery, river safari, tea plantation etc). The hotel is very clean, personnel very friendly and helpful, air condition ok. Some 2 km's distance from Hikkaduwa center, where transfer with tuktuk takes some 5-7 mins (200 rbs). We had a room at the road side of the hotel, where the traffic noise is quite strong. If you are a bad sleeper, don't take a room from this side, even if it's a bit cheaper. If you are a good sleeper, you get used to the traffic noise in one night, like we did. The breakfast is the same every morning, you get tired to that. The beach is lovely and there are good beach restaurants on only 5 min's walk from the hotel.
