Perched atop a sun-drenched hillside in the serenity of Carmel Valley, this immaculate, 2-unit property is surrounded by fruit trees, native foliage, herbs, and panoramic views of the rolling hills of Carmel Valley. The main house features three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a large open kitchen concept, separate dining area and expansive living area with fireplace. The primary bedroom boasts breathtaking views of the Valley, cozy fireplace, en-suite bathroom, and walk-in closet. Featuring a backyard oasis with an expansive deck, separate patio with gazebo and a new swimming pool with custom water features.
The detached guest house boasts a new redwood deck, full kitchen, fireplace, full bathroom and incredible views of the property grounds and Carmel Valley. Complete with air conditioning. This is an incredibly rare offering and slice of paradise that does not come available often!
*Detached guest house is available to book upon request (this is a separate listing with its own parking and entrance and shares no common spaces or amenities with this home, however, I suggest you book it if you consider yourself a very private person and do not want anyone else on the property (link sent upon request)
***NOTE: Our heat pump runs on solar energy and is designed to be used for spring summer and fall. Please note that this pump will only heat the pool water 10 degrees warmer than the current outdoor ambient temperature. -Pool heating fee is $150 per day and requires a 2 day minimum and 3 days notice.
-Pet fee is $150 for up to 2 dogs.
-PETS: If you bring a pet, and the pet causes damages, you agree to pay for such damages (door scratches, stained couches, etc). You must ensure they will not scratch any doors or go on the beds or sofas. Carmel Valley Veterinary Hospital offers really reasonable rates to board your dogs if this is an option for you.
-Guest House: The guest house is located 50 ft away from the main home. It sits below the main home and to right, behind the swimming pool. This place is separate and has no common or shared areas with the main home. Guests have their own private entrance and parking. If you would like to add it we will send you the link, otherwise it may be booked.
-Make sure to bring all of your groceries and beverages as you are a 15-20 minute drive from Carmel Valley village and there is no grocery store nearby. I will provide basic items like olive oil, salt, pepper, sugar, coffee and filters.
-The drive to this property is on a narrow, winding country road which is dark at night. Please plan to arrive during daylight if it is your first time at the property. Do not plan to travel into town to restaurants or weddings for heavy drinking and expect to drive back to the home safely. Use pull-out spots to pull over for locals that may be driving faster.
-Please note that the pool is an extra amenity. If anything should happen to it during your stay, I will do everything in my power to fix it in a timely manner. However, there are no refunds with issues related to the pool.

Summary: Everything was great about the property but you don’t want to arrive (or leave) at night in the dark. Very dangerous roads leading up the mountain. Beautiful views and great house. Would stay there again.

Summary: Beautiful house with amazing mountain view. The pool was very clean and temperature was great with the recent warm weather. The additional entertainment items - air hockey, ping pong etc were great. Kitchen was stocked with plenty cooking utensils but bring all your own supplies (food, cooking spray, etc) as there are no base supplies. A few extra towels/ washcloths would be nice as we were one short for number of reg guests. There were no directions / check out instructions in the house or received from host.

Summary: Unfortunately, we had multiple issues during our stay and I cannot recommend this property. The air conditioning was not working on an extremely hot day. The temperature inside the house reached 89 degrees. We inspected the central air unit and it was clear that the filter was extremely old and in need of replacement. It was blocking airflow and the compressor froze over. We’re greatly disappointed that the owner was unable to remedy the situation and unwilling to offer us compensation when we requested after the visit. This is unforgivable considering the property is listed as being air conditioned and we would not have rented otherwise. The refrigerator was also not working properly when the house got hot, reaching an internal temperature of 54 degrees. The kitchen counter and cupboard were also covered in ants when we arrived. Our check in process was unnecessarily complicated. The lock box was difficult to open, and even once we were able to open it, it was missing a key inside. We had to contact the owner, who guided us to a spare key in an unsecured location. Finally, we feel foolish for having paid extra to have the pool heated. I suppose that’s on us, but I am confident that the heater did not use any energy, so the heating fee was pure, unearned profit for the owner.

Summary: We simply loved our stay in Carmel Valley. The drive up the mountain had very winding roads, but once you arrive you step into another world filled with beautiful views. My husband and I felt like we were in Italy at times, especially when we were drinking wine under the gazebo overlooking the valley and mountains. Relaxing by the pool during the day was also just what we needed! Very comfortable beds and well stocked kitchen supplies, everything you need for a home away from home vacation.
