Negative: Very expansive for the guide / tour booking when compared to other places in Sulawesie The manager / guide is nice and speaks very well English but is kind of arrogant, he thinks that he knows and has seen everything, and he has sometimes not the appropriate behaviour with customers/people

Positive: Hearty homecooked meals One of the more decent options around and very friendly villagers around Shower head working well and western style toilet Family is nice and tries their best to help whenever possible

Negative: Nasrul was sick so we took a tour with one of his brothers. He tried his best to communicate in english and we appreciated that however we didnt really get much out of the tour as it was mostly us following him around with no explanation due to langauge barrier, and we felt like at the end of it we could have just visited the village on our own. The morning visit involved visiting a cave where we had to walk through very muddy paths in the rain with our shoes all soaked in mud and got viciously attacked by mosquito. We dont think the tour was worth it to us. Our room had cockroaches on both days but the brothers helped us rid of it. Also quite dusty and the bed often had insects droppings on it. Best to put up the net all day. Another comment is that perhaps the staff should try to smoke away from the guest as during the tours and meal times there is often someone smoking close to us. We appreciate the family hospitality but hope this feedback can help fhe homestay improve its facilities and service in the future

But if you seek to feel local living style, if you wish to feel like family member and dear guest, you are welcome here. We found here not just sleeping place, but we found here good friends and local life. Also, you will find here very good food and perfect local guides.

Positive: Nasrul is an amazing host. He went above and beyond to help us and make us feel comfortable. It's a perfect stop from Makasar to Rante Pao, because Nasrul organised that the bus stopped on the way and we didn't have to drive back to Makasar. Don't forget to order the food. They will freshly cook and amazing meal that is hard to find on the street. Don't expect high end luxury but a real authentic homestay with a lovely family. Whatever they earn they put back to upgrade the homestay, so you will be helping them by staying. Although Ramang Ramand is not listed as a highlight, it definitely should be!
