Positive: The layout of the downstairs is open, leisurely and comfortable. Dining and kitchen items are easily accessible, easy to clean, and put away. Tea, coffee, shoyu, oil, etc are available, though sometimes not in obvious locations. Gas stove top with four burners! There were interesting and unexpected items to find - a giant heavy safe in the living tatami room, a small fish tank with two tiny fish, a wood stove by the entrance made the place intriguing. The bunk beds in the dorm room are very sturdy and yet roomy and private. I love how each has a different theme - mine was bottles, another was a chair, onigiri, etc. complete with a wall hanging of the corresponding graphic. The futon and cover were perfect even if it’s very cold outside.
Negative: One guest hung their sweaty clothes up outside their down bunk bed and smelled up the entire dorm room! Not sure what could have been done about that, though. A bit hard to find the front as I did not see any sign during the night on arrival. Not lit up. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and I would return.

Positive: The mood was very warm, there was a temporary coffee shop open within the guest house during my stay, and the mix of clients from the coffee shop and the residents was totally fun. The house itself feels traditional in a good way.

Positive: I like the old-fashioned decor of the house. Check-in was easy, and the facilities were all in good working order. The location is also very close to the city centre and the station, only about a 15min walk, so it's good for when you arrive and leave with a lot of luggage!

Positive: The house itself is beautiful and the beds are comfy. They have a spacious living room and a nice shower. Additionally there is air conditioning which was very nice. Everyone there is very kind and welcoming! I can’t recommend this enough! Also the food you can buy is very tasty.

Positive: It was very cozy. They also serve dinner and breakfast so you could see some people eating before going to work or to sleep and it was quite nice, even just hearing their conversations or looking at their outfits. The facilities were traditional and authentic.
Negative: The facilities were a bit old and the staff didn't speak English very well. There was some noise while sleeping, though it was absolutely bearable.
