Positive: What a fun, minimalist space for a stay in Uno while visiting the art islands or even Takamatsu or Tokushima on a day trip! Kota-san is a delightful host, and you can experience living inside a kind of sculptural environment - with a real kitchen and excellent shower - for a fifth the cost of a stay at Benesse House accommodations on Naoshima.

Negative: The only potential issue is the steep interior stairway, similar to those in traditional machiya houses. This is only a concern to someone with mobility issues. I’m 71 years old and had no problem!

Positive: The space is very beautiful, bright and spacious, with access to a rooftop. It has lovely furniture and light design. Shower is great. Everything was super clean and tidy. The apartment is located only a stone's throw away from the station and the ferry port. Highly recommend.

Positive: The 1-room apartment was very minimally furnished - rather Japanese in its simplicity and functionality. It could use a comfortable chair, however. And it seems that construction on the entry to the unit is not yet complete. The “deck” wasn’t a deck as commonly known. It was a bare rooftop with no furnishings. On the other hand, the owner was very helpful and responsive.

Negative: As above, there was nothing comfortable to site on. And there was no “deck” furniture.

Summary: Attractive, functional, but not cost. Still, I would return.

Positive: The spartan design left plenty of space to enjoy. The bed was comfortable. The shower was luxurious. After a long day out, we looked forward to returning home. All-in-all, a wonderful stay.

Positive: Perfect location and well thought amenities. Clear checkin instructions and helpful and responsive staff.

Negative: No clear windows in the main floor to see outside and also I wish there was a sofa as well. The apt is for 5 people but no where to sit else than the low chairs in the kitchen. Also it might be an idea to put a heater in the bathroom as well.
