1 Bedroom Cabin in Brightwood

An authentic Mt Hood cabin hand-built in 1922 and lovingly restored. Simple and rustic and charming! If you love hand-crafted details, you'll fall in love with Mt Hood’s Cedarwood Cabin.
A beautiful enamel woodstove is the centerpiece--perfect for curling upon rainy evenings with a book and blanket.
The comfortable bed sleeps two, and the folding futon couch can offer an additional sleeping spot.
The kitchen is basic, but has tools to turn your groceries into yummy meals: a plug-in hot-plate and microwave, coffee grinder, french press, coffee maker, waffle iron, and an assortment of bowls, dishes and utensils are at the ready—but NO OVEN (just be aware for your grocery planning.) Or enjoy the nearby restaurants and brewpubs of Welches.
This cabin, like all historic cabins, is by design, a rustic and simple structure: It can get chilly in the morning; it has simple cooking set up; and the attached bathroom is just a step out the back door, with sink, shower, and toilet, and electric code lock.
Tucked in a wooded neighborhood just off the main Mt Hood Hwy 26, Cedarwood is conveniently located for all that Mt Hood has to offer. It’s close enough to be in civilization, but also feels like stepping back in time into a private cabin world inside. Guests have found it a magical place to slow down, unwind, unplug, relax. You won't find a TV, but you'll find fun books on hiking and Mt Hood history, places to read, to rest, to reconnect. Fall asleep to the gentle patter of rain.

Summary: Not as secluded as the pics mate it appear. My fault but didn’t realize there’s no stovetop (hot plate and plug in grill sufficed though). Overall cute cabin for rustic experience.

Summary: Stepping into this cabin, you can tell the host has thoughtfully and carefully worked through each detail to capture the history and beauty of the area. The cabin was so peaceful, with sounds of rain and the river nearby, beautiful lookout windows, and the comfiest bed. Woodstove kept us toasty warm (after a couple of failed attempts to start a fire), and the bathroom located just outside the cabin was the perfect refreshment needed.Kitchen is stocked with everything needed! Delicious waffles and coffee was had. The hot plate situation may look a little daunting, but we were able to cook up meals easily.Such a wonderful, peaceful stay! Highly recommend.

Summary: We loved staying here, it was rustic, simple and relaxing. I loved the rich history and the care and thought Ian put into making the cabin enjoyable. The selection of books, a beautiful wood stove and a little record player added to the old time vibe. Thanks to host Ian for preserving and sharing this gem with us all.

Summary: Comfortable, cozy, and cared-for. The Cedarwood cabin was a perfect location for a winter week of reading, writing, napping, playing music and games, and just catching up with ourselves and one another. Making use of the wood stove for heat meant that I could also get warm splitting some logs if I felt like it, but had an ample supply of fuel laid up already. Thank you Ian for your care and attention to us and to the cabin!

Summary: Nice little cabin was not cleaned before our stay otherwise as advertised
