Relax in the hot tub as you listen to the sound of the river. Feast on marshmallows roasted over a fire in the woods. Explore over a half mile of trails along the bank of the Sandy River. Tons of recreation awaits; biking, climbing, hiking, fishing, and of course fantastic ski resorts.

The Space:

Created as the ultimate vacation rental, this house features a stunning kitchen, a massive master bedroom with soaking tub, two upstairs suites with full baths, one bedroom downstairs, and a bunk room with 8 twin beds. All the woodwork and much of the furniture was hand built from wood harvested from the property. The 700 sq ft covered deck features a hot tub, BBQ, outdoor dining table, and tons of seating.
This 6 acre property has an outdoor fire pit area, picnic tables, hand built log bridges across the seasonal creek, two beach areas (depending on water levels) and access to a community trail that follows the Sandy River.

Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire house. Outdoor area is shared between 4 houses, but there is plenty of space for everyone. There are 4 separate outdoor fire pits, available on a first come first serve basis. Dedicated parking for 4 vehicles, with shared overflow space. Driveway to the property is on the NE side of Brightwood Loop rd, between 64235 and 64291.
The Neighborhood:
Nestled by the Sandy River on Brightwood Loop Rd, you feel miles away from civilization, but in reality are less than 5 minutes away from HWY 26 near Zig Zag. At mere 20 minutes from Timberline Lodge, you can beat the traffic up the mountain to ski without having to get up too early.
Other Things to Note:
Tankless water heater supplies endless hot water to ensures that everyone can get clean and warm after a day on the mountain. Run 2-3 showers at same time.
EV Chargers have Tesla (NACS) Style plugs, if you need an adapter, please bring it with you. Chargers are rated for 8KW and charge a Tesla from 0% in about 9 hours.
It snows here! Winter on the mountain is unpredictable, chains / shovel for your vehicle are recommended during snow season.
Good internet, reasonable cell service. Some GPS / apps will try to send you to the middle of the Sandy River, cross check with the location map!
The Sandy River is COLD, as we are near the glaciers that feed it. It is also fast moving and swimming or wading is recommended to only be done at low flow in the summer.
Please check with local authorities for burn bans and fishing information. Clackamas County regulations allow for 15 guests maximum, if you have a larger group, consider booking 2 adjacent houses on this property.

Summary: . The house was exceptionally clean, modern, and stylish — it exceeded our expectations. The hot tub was a huge hit, and the proximity to the river made for some unforgettable moments. The kids had a blast roasting s’mores over the bonfire and hiking down toward the river.The host was incredibly polite and gave us great local recommendations for sites to see in the area. The location is also fantastic — close to some great restaurants and other Mount Hood attractions.Overall, this was a phenomenal experience for our whole family. Highly recommend, and we’d love to come back again!

Summary: The house is nice and perfect for big families. Bring paper towels, spray cleaner, foil/zip lock bags and any spices or oils you need for cooking. They don’t provide any of that.

Summary: I hosted a 5 day intensive retreat for 14 psychology coach practitioners and this place was perfect. Excellent outdoor space for bonfires & hikes down the river and even a chapel seating for an outdoor wedding ceremony on the river plus the indoor spaces were spacious, full of light and bright. There are 4 master bedrooms (8 people can fit) which was great and the only issue, I would say is the 5th bedroom has 8 bunk beds which is more made for kids but we managed! Iwould definitely stay here again!

The kitchen had everything we needed, and the hot tub was great. The location is ideal, with quick access to outdoor activities, and the property itself is fun to explore. Summary: We only spent two nights at the Sandy house but the kids packed it in! The living space with open kitchen/dining room/living area was the best. All the rooms were spacious The only disappointment was the bareness of kitchen supplies—it would be nice to have a few basics like tin foil and plastic wrap so we didn’t have to go to the storeThe fun in the snow was awesome, thank you!

Summary: It was a great house, lots of space and nice to have so many bathrooms with a group. We were here during a busy holiday time and unfortunately the kitchen was pretty dirty when we checked in. Lots of crumbs and sticky floors. And dirty laundry in the laundry room. We were told this was due to it being holiday times but we paid a lot of extra money to stay at a peak time. We also had someone there at 9:30am waiting for us to leave and telling us they needed to start cleaning.
