Positive: Pet friendly, location was good.
Negative: It was a little pricey for my opinion. The room we stay in needs a little maintenance/ repairs. We had to ask to have the trash removed from the elevator door, because it was overflowing. We had to ask for clean towels. No came to see if we needed them. We took out our own trash. We had two vehicles and only one could park in the garage.

Positive: I had trouble finding the main desk upon arrival had to ask muitiple people. The room wasn't very clean at all dirty diaper hidden in closet. tampoon and shit stain on the sheets of pull out couch. then there was no real soap to wash hands. dispenser for soap was off the wall sitting on bathroom sink. i ask for paper towels muitiple times was told there wasnt any. only reason i would stay again is because its affordable. i wouldn't recommend Monte Carlo.

Positive: The location was ideal. We walked to the beach each day and were centrally located to all the boardwalk locations from the amusement park to the quieter restaurants in the 20s. We were also able to walk to activities on Philadelphia Avenue.
Negative: The elevator was broken for a few days of the stay. That was the only way to access our room with our key card. The doors were left ajar with a rock. This was visible from the streets creating an unsafe situation. There is no hotel staff at this location. The stairwells, pool deck and chairs and cement hallways on the 1st and 2nd floor were dirty and had a lot of bird poop. Anything you needed, you had to cross the street to the hotel. Our kitchenette also had ants in it. I would not ever stay here again or recommend it to others. This was our first stay in OC, and one of the few places that popped up being pet friendly, so we felt limited in our choices, but having visited, there are many other pet friendly options available that are cleaner, safer and a better value.
Summary: While the location is good, look elsewhere if cleanliness and safety are inportnat to you.
