Dob Cottage is a nearly new stone built cottage in a pleasant courtyard setting, just a short stroll from the village centre with all it's amenities. The cottage is fitted out with all mod.cons. and yet has the characterful beams so typical of the area. The bedroom on the ground floor has 2 comfortable 3ft beds (can convert to double) with 200/400 thread count Egyptian cotton bedding and pocket sprung mattresses. The bathroom has a bath and separate shower plus wc and wash basin.. Upstairs is an open plan kitchen/lounge area with all modern facilities including a 42" flat screen television, with Netflix.
No more than two minutes walk away, there are good restaurants, take-aways, shops, ATM's and lots of countryside walks, so no need to use the car . There is an allocated parking spot right outside the door of the cottage.
The charming village of Holmfirth with its many quirky little shops and eating places, is just 5 minutes drive away.

Summary: Lovely cottage as described,village literally around the corner with some lovely restaurants and bars,nice little bakery and a co-op.Bus service regular into holmfirth,Huddersfield and the surrounding area.We went on a couple of walks which were lovely and picturesque.The cottage itself provided for everything a really nice place to stay,we actually enjoyed just watching Netflix and chilling out with host Jenny at hand should we have required anything.We will definitely return for more exploring or just to get away from it all and relax.

Summary: My wife and I could not be happier with the stay at the cottage. It was a wonderful experience in such a beautiful town. We were greeted with a nice bottle of wine and snacks, which was a fantastic gift, especially after a long flight from the United States. The cottage was a home away from home with all the amenities needed for a home-like feeling. The host, Jenny, was great and responded quickly to our questions. The cottage's location was great, and there were many places to shop. We met so many wonderful people in the village and made many friends, especially at a local pub called Farmers Arms. We will definitely request to stay again when we come back to the U.K. Thank you Jenny for the great hospitality and memories.

Summary: Just right for a couple. Shops close by. Easy access to walks both with and without car. Also good bus and train service to Huddersfield/Manchester/Leeds etc. A lovely break. Very lucky with the weather.
