Summary: Beautiful mansion that has been renovated. It took us a second to figure out how to access this place as it was dark when we arrived and the driveway is about a block off Hwy 20. Owner Corey gave us a phone tour of the property upon arrival as there were other guests renting other areas of the property, very friendly and informative. We rented the garden room by itself for us two for a one-night stay. The room was gorgeous and we loved the wood-burning oven. If you're a light sleeper, take heed as the noise from other guests coming and going on the staircase right outside the room is fairly noisy at times. And there is also a train nearby, but personally I liked that as it reminds me of home. Ladies, take note that the garden room has very dim lighting and neither lamp worked when we were there. The bathroom does have natural light during daytime though. Bonus surprise was the vibrating adjustable bed, made us chuckle. Only downfall was the 2 mattresses on the king bed slid apart during the evening and I ended up sleeping in what was essentially a blanket hammock in the bed crack. Surprisingly, still slept great! Very neat historical property overall, would recommend!

Summary: Other renters were not very considerate. Barking dog running the floors at 6:30am and people yelling from room to room and trying to open the door. All rented by one group so not the owners fault.

Summary: Loved the background and look of the property for the pictures that I was taking. The only drawback was no towels in the room.

Summary: The mansion is exquisite. The large, dark curtains, interior design and cleanliness just made the stay perfect! Adjustable beds, whirlpool bath, mini fridge, micro...it was exactly the stress free getaway we were looking for. 15 mins from Dubuque downtown activities, 20 mins from Galena and we highly recommend Timmermans Supper Club down Hwy 20. Thank you Corey! Your workmanship and care is evident!!

Summary: The room was comofortable and gorgeous. The property is beautiful. Corey was vedy easy to deal with. The onl complaint I noticed was the shower layout.

Summary: Room was clean, but a bit dusty. I have allergies to dust. We never did get the TV to work. That was mostly ok as we were too tired to really watch it, but we do watch the news. The mattress was really sunken in. Even with all the lights on it was still dark. The dimmers were all the way up. When getting out of the shower and stepping on the slick wet tile I almost fell down. However in spite of all that it was a good stay and the owner couldn't have been nicer. We recognize the rooms most likely haven't be used much in a while due to the COVID-19. The owner made sure we got to the room and had everything we needed. He checked in with us again to let us now we could use other areas in addition to our room. We felt safe and would definitely stay there again. The reason for our stay this time was very stressful - admitting my sister into a nursing home. (She didn't want to go.) Because my sister has now moved there permanently we will be going back and forth more often requiring more overnight stays and would stay again!
