Summary: The building is fantastic and worth a visit just for that. The service on site was good. However the service with the room and after stay was very poor. The Deluxe room (with balcony) was booked. The room received was downgraded multiple levels. Raised issue at the front desk, lady on reception confirmed my room query was valid and I was in the wrong room... Room 115! The room had a lot of dead spiders on the lip of the bathroom and dust. Window was locked and not a balcony. When I contacted Hotels.com for a refund in room rate difference, hotel Merici denies the room was not incorrectly assigned. Having had the conversation with the hotel and for this reason alone, I wouldn’t stay here again. Overall a poor experience, from a place that has the possibility to be good.

Summary: We went for a couples time away. We enjoyed our stay very much. Only issue we had is that we had to pay for our service animal. This is very unthoughtful when someone has a disability. Most places don’t charge.
