Positive: A great base to explore the local area. We visited the slate islands and nice walks near by, lovely detailed routes provided by Melfort village. Really nice to have the pub open this time of year for a drink in the sunshine after a nice day out in the fresh air. Nice beers on tap, we didn't eat there but food looked nice. Kitchen well equipped for self catering and spotless. Really great that some cleaning supplies and lots of toilet roll were provided.

Negative: Check out time is very strict and quite early. Option of a later check out would be nice especially as check in is also quite late.

Positive: The highlights were the Gunpowder restaurant, great food with really friendly staff and brilliant chef. The music night with Matthew and a piper was just wonderful, thank you. Reception staff were all lovely and so helpful, nothing too much trouble. The setting is beautiful and the swimming pool, golf, tennis were all a bonus.

Negative: Nothing really, the only slight disadvantage was it is a drive into Oban, but that could be a positive for others if you want to get away from it all.

Positive: Comfortable well equipped cottages in fabulous setting. So many facilities on site, swimming pool, games room, bar and bistro, play area for kids and fenced area for dog run. Everything you could ask for and more, the staff are amazingly friendly and helpful
