Positive: Lina and Leo have created a beautiful place to relax, and from which to explore Southern Puglia. The property is lovely, with the cleanest pool we've ever seen; comfortable, characterful, clean rooms and beautiful gardens. The food they prepare is exceptional - most of it made from scratch with their own home-grown produce. The kindness and warmth shown to their guests by Lina and Leo is wonderful; they manage to strike that perfect balance of being extremely friendly and always available to help, but never imposing on their guests' space or privacy. We felt completely at ease, very welcome, and 'at home' there. We were very sorry to leave and wish we'd booked at least another day. We easily drove to the beaches of Salento, and to Otranto and Lecce. Guests will definitely need a car. Supermarket just a few minutes' drive away.

Positive: Masseria Casina Montana is a gem! This is my second time staying here and I will gladly recommend it to friends and family. The property is located in a beautiful part of Salento. Features a wonderful pool, delicious breakfast with local homemade foods everyday, and comfortable rooms. Lena is a kind and lovely host who knows the area well and gives excellent travel advice for exploring Salento. I recommend having a car when exploring this part of Puglia.

Positive: Puglia, we have discovered, is the ideal southern region of Italy where to spend a few weeks of peace, quiet, and tranquillity in the country. The Masseria Casina Montana, located near the towns of Corigliano D'Otranto and Maglie, is one such ideal place. Without qualifications, we rate it a well deserved 10, for the courtesy, friendliness, and the diligent attention to our every needs by the owners, for its ideal location in the middle of golden wheat fields, for its proximity to Otranto, Gallipoli, Santa Maria Dell'Euca and some of the unspoiled and beautiful beaches in Puglia. The Masseria, which is open the whole year round, is a family run operation. The owners, Lina, Leo, and their daughter Chiara, who live on the premises in a separate building from the guests's quarters, are three of the friendliest and welcoming people one could ever meet. From the moment we arrived, Lina made us feel at home. Welcoming us with a pleasant smile, friendly, full of energy, and very attentive to our immediate needs, she prepared for us a wonderful dinner, even though we arrived late in the evening. The Masseria provides a wonderful breakfast with eggs, homemade bread, crostate, and a delicious variety of pastries, including our favorite, pasticciotti, a variety of homemade jams, juces, yogurt, coffee, etc. They also serve wonderful Italian style three course dinners, with desert, fruit, coffee, and amaros at the end of the meal. And, it was a treat to find out that all their pasta is homemade - made from flour ground from the grain harvested from their fields that surround the property. A bonus, we soon discovered, is that Leo is a professional chef and it was he who baked the breads and the crostatas, and who cooked our dinners.

Positive: The best 5 night stay. Pictures do not do this masseria justice. Beautiful, peaceful setting full of flowers, plants and birds tweeting. Authentic and noteworthy clean, particularly the pool which was the best and cleanest I've ever been in. Lina and Leo were fantastic hosts with a real sense of being a guest in their home. Lina set out an outstanding breakfast every morning with more food than we could ever handle and we tried Leo's equally as good cooking one evening. Could not recommend more for a peaceful break to explore Puglia!

Positive: The breakfast was fantastic and the best we got during our whole stay in Puglia. Everything was made from scratch, and the cook was superb! The couple that runs this place is the sweetest! We even was so lucky to have dinner there one night - all homemade typical italian food. This is a place to stress down, and just enjoy!
