Positive: One of the most beautiful hotels I have stayed at in Azerbaijan. The location is breathtaking, and the view from the balcony overlooking the mountains and the village of Kiş is truly unique. If you stay here, you should definitely book a room with a mountain view and balcony. The rooms are spacious and clean, and the staff is very friendly. The personal guest manager made the welcome experience especially memorable. I will definitely come back and stay longer next time to fully enjoy everything.

Positive: The hotel is well signposted from Sheki which was helpful. and only a short drive from Sheki's main attractions. Our junior suite was spacious with a balcony. The fruit bowl was welcome. When the sun came out the views of the woods and mountains were lovely and the birdlife prolific but sadly dense low cloud and rain rather ruined that much of the time. At this time of year the main snow melt has gone so a rocky river bed rather than a lake. The staff were helpful and obviously ;wanted to talk. I suspect being an "aged" English couple we were not the usual guests. .Rizwan in the Dining Room was excellent company as was the help I got from reception and with the assistance with our car's sat nav. Breakfast was similar to other hotels we stayed at but Dinner (delivered one course at a time but not the case elsewhere) ) was good value as were the ;local beers and wines..
Negative: The low cloud and rain but that is hardly the Hotel's fault!!!!. A minor gripe - when checking out someone is sent to check the mini bar.. I think that is a bit sad if not a little insulting. We should be trusted.
Summary: A quality hotel close to Sheki with an A La Carte menu in a scenic setting - Marxal is that hotel.
