Positive: Mantaray Island Resort is paradise!!! You step off the boat onto the sand and it feels like you are living in a dream. The staff are absolutely amazing, nothing is too difficult and everything is organised like clockwork (with the exception of Fijian time haha). There are so many things to do - free snorkelling (beautiful reef and fish right out the front of the hotel), kayaking and paddle boarding off the beach and manta ray, snorkelling and village tours which are all an extra cost. The food was good with a good variety of choices. Loved the woodfired pizza oven for a lunch by the beach option. I did an SSI Open Dive Certification while I was there and the dive team was amazing (thanks to our awesome instructor Handre!)

Negative: I found it a bit on the pricey side - I had a treehouse room (basically just a small room with a bed in it) with a shared bathroom - everything was super clean but the bed was quite hard. Granted I did book in high season and there were no other available rooms - so paid premium price. The meal plan is expensive but it seems to be the norm for the islands as they have to import the food and drinks are extra.

Summary: Absolutely loved this island paradise! The highlight was the beautiful location and friendly staff!

Positive: Our stay at Mantaray was nothing short of exceptional. The whole setup there is excellent and promotes both relaxation and cultural learning. The staff are a standout with an eclectic mix of personalities - Jim, Rapote and Anna were standouts for us. We took part in the village tour which is a must-do, the hand-line fishing which was good fun for an afternoon and a number of the free activities such as the Meke (dance show) and Kava ceremony. All of which were timely and good fun. We have already said we’ll be back again which is no small thing as we’re literally from the other side of the world!

Negative: Leaving!
