Positive: Our stay at Max's was the highlight of our trip. More special than the two beautiful resorts we stayed at. This is down to the hospitality and friendship from Nesco, who looked after us from the time he met us at the Yasawa Flyer until the transfer to Octopus resort. We hung out and ate with locals in the village and shared stories over a bowl of cava back at the house. Clean room on the beach, with no other tourists in sight, apart from the day trippers to the village. Good local food and shill vibes.

Negative: The food options were limited as we ate local meals. No beer available . Bring your own and use Max's fridge to cool it down.

Positive: Amazing views and location right on the beach. Short hike to octopus resort on the other side of island. Great snorkelling. Comfortable accommodation and bedding.

Negative: Max had left to go to the village for majority of a day so was unavailable to book any activities. Minimal interaction with any of the locals (besides the friendly dogs and cats) so we were mostly left to ourselves to do our own activities. We only stayed a night so may of been different if we were around longer. Would recommend bringing your own snorkeling mask, provided one was uncomfortable.

Positive: We had everything we need .The family went far and beyond to make our stay very special .Max took us fishing and snorkeling.Food was lovely and planty samething new in every meal .Mostly was fish right from the sea at our plate .Easy to get to Octapus resort for snorkeling and drinks .We will came again

Positive: Beautiful homestay with the best food we had on the Yasawas. The room is quite new, it comes with a mosquito net and a spacious bathroom. The location is stunning, directly at the beach where you can do SUP or snorkeling. The owner and his family were welcoming us at the first evening with the traditional drink Kava, it was a surprise and a very nice experience. There were also kids who enjoyed joining us doing sports. The only thing that was a no go for us were the kids lurking through our windows when we were changing. But other than that, we would recommend it 100%!

Positive: Food was AMAZING!!! Fiji food <3 The kids are boisterous and loving. People are so friendly and hospitable to tourists. Homestay is close by the resort so you can enjoy cheap and cheerful homestay as well as cocktails, great snorkelling, etc at the resort during the day.

Negative: The shower head could use a clean to improve the water pressure but I understand that strong water pressure is probably harder to come by out here.

Summary: So glad we decided to stay with Max. He has a beautiful family and lives in one of the most scenic places on Earth.

Positive: This was my most enjoyable and relaxing stay of my yasawa trip. So many positives. The place its self is separate from the families quarters so you feel like you have real privacy. The family are all lovely and non intrusive. The kids are the cutest things ever. The bed is of quality hotel standards with a priceless mosquito net. Finally the food was excellent and abundant, every time catering for my pescatarian needs. Was very sad to leave.

Negative: Although it states ‘cash not accepted’ on bookings payment option; cash is in fact the ONLY payment option. So please be mindful of this if intending to stay here
