Maison Rossignol is set in the small hamlet of Flerac in the commune of Saint Georges Des Agouts. It is ideally situated just 5-10 minutes from junction 37 of the A10 autoroute at Mirambeau, yet in a blissfully quiet area surrounded by vineyards.
It offers open and spacious accommodation for up to 6 people. The accommodation is all on one floor, together with half an acre of open space offering fantastic views of the open countryside.
It has been renovated with a heated swimming pool added in 2018 and further renovations. Exclusive use of house and pool. Not shared with anyone else.
In the Peak Summer Season, changeover days are Saturday and bookings are a minimum 7 day blocks.
Situated close to Mirambeau in the Charente Maritime, the house is ideally located to explore the golden sandy beaches near Meschers and Royan, the history and heritage of Saintes and the vineyards of Bordeaux and Cognac.
Bordeaux is just 45 mins drive away, with the Dordogne and Atlantic surfing beaches within easy reach too. Whether its rest or activity, family time or peace and quiet – you’ll be spoilt for choice.
About the House
Kitchen/Dining Area:
The fitted kitchen/diner is a large, light and airy open space. Offering everything you’d expect at home including programmable oven/hob, dishwasher, washing machine and a large American fridge freezer. The dining area comfortably seats 6 and looks out onto the front garden.
Living Room:
The large beamed room is ideal to retreat from the summer heat or to warm up on cooler evenings in front of the wood burning stove. There’s plenty of entertainment choice with TV & full fibre streaming, books, films and games (consoles and traditional).
En-suite Bedroom:
The vaulted ceiling and exposed local stone create a barn-like space for the king size bed, together with plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and chest of drawers.
A door leads through to the en-suite bathroom, finished with Italian shower, mosaic and marbled tiling throughout.
Bedroom 2:
Very spacious with large french windows. Twin beds, clothes storage, bookcase and side tables.

Shower room/WC
Located across from the hallway from the other bedrooms, with a Italian walk-in shower with mosaic tiled floor, heated towel rail, WC and basin.
Outside
The garden extends to half an acre and wraps around the house, offering privacy and seclusion from the front, with a spectacular view across the hills and down to the Gironde valley.
The 10m X 5m heated pool catches the sun all day long, surrounded by pear and walnut trees so there is also shade in various parts of the garden throughout the day.
Note: The Pool is closed from End October to May each year.
The pool has roman steps at the shallow end making it easy to get in and out of. There is plenty of space around the pool, with sun loungers for the whole party,
There is also a driveway with ample parking space, a garage and courtyard area perfect for sunny boule matches.
Immediately outside the house is a graveled area with a very shallow small pond and a grassed area, adjacent to the main lawn.
Just outside the kitchen is the terrace which gets the sun all day and is perfect for al- fresco dining.

Summary: The property is exactly as described and shown in the photos. A modern well equipped kitchen is elevated with a Nespresso coffee machine. The monsoon showers are great and there are more entertainment systems than you could ever want, especially if you have a variety of ages in your party. Last and by no means least, who doesn’t want a heated private pool surrounded by gardens and cornfields? 5 minutes from the motorway and at most 10 from a great supermarket in Mirambeau, Maison Rossignol is well situated yet also “in the middle of nowhere”. Communication before and during the stay was great. There was a minor issue with the pool on arrival but it sorted out quickly and easily with no input required from us. Thanks for letting us stay.

Summary: Lots of room for the four of us (but it would easily have taken two more). All of the rooms were spacious and the house is very well equipped with everything you need. Plenty of outside space and the heated pool was large and kept to a good temperature. Lots of information from the host before arrival, he also checked in via email during our stay and there was a welcome pack with some essentials when we arrived. Highly recommended.

Summary: We stayed at this beautiful property for a week in August 2024. It is very well appointed and cared for. The property was super clean! The welcome pack, new soaps in each bathroom and in the kitchen with new sponges and brushes were lovely touches and much appreciated. The pool is salt water and a perfect size to swim short lenghts or have some fun play. The poolside loungers were very comfortable! Just a few small niggles - the master bedroom is gorgeous and spacious but the velux windows don't have any coverings so you are awoken at sunrise making it hard to sleep in! Perhaps providing quality eye masks would be a workaround. The family bathroom shower temperature was not hot enough even at max temp to take a shower. Finally, the fantastic coffee machine looks great but we could not source the pods locally and did'nt fancy a drive to Bordeaux just to purchase the pods. If we had known we could have purchased supplies in advance! Overall a great property with lots of care taken to ensure a stay is enjoyable.

Summary: The house and pool were absolutely lovely. Pool was great size for 3 teens and us and well used in a very hot week. Well equipped, lovely garden and patio. Lots of day trips about and easy to access.

Summary: We had a fantastic time in your vacation home. The large pool was an absolute hit, especially on warmer days. The spacious garden provided plenty of opportunities to relax and enjoy nature. Beneath the beautiful large trees in the garden, we could also seek shade and unwind. Additionally, exploring some charming nearby towns was a highlight. We visited La Rochelle, including the aquarium, Terres d'Oiseaux, and Bordeaux. We even went canoeing in Chauvignac. And let's not forget: having a supermarket just a short 10-minute drive away made life much easier. Thank you for the wonderful holiday!

Summary: A beautiful home,gardens and pool in a fantastic rural location.We loved our 2 weeks stay Communication with David was great,the kitchen had everything you needed and more and the pool was fantastic even with my mobility problems ( rheumatoid arthritis) Unfortunately my daughter and I caught COVID in France but that was no problem as the weather was great and I managed to read 5 books.Great local restaurant and nothing was too far.The 12 HR drive from Surrey was worth it. Will hopefully come back😁

Summary: We really enjoyed our week at this property. Our boys loved the pool and spent many hours regardless of the weather. The pool table wasn’t quite as they’d hoped as it didn’t sit flat, but they still played a game or two. We didn’t try the bikes as one had a flat tyre. It’s very rural, surrounded by farmers fields including vines. So peaceful, especially at night. The stars were amazing. Host was great, very easy to communicate with. There was a great house guide including lots of places to visit. If you are looking for a week of peace and quiet with a pool, this is the place for you.
