Beautiful rural setting for peace and tranquility. The cabin was constructed in 2012, is positioned at the foot of a mountain with views to the Ionian sea. Ideal for rural holidays for families,couples and friends and lovers of nature. Air con fitted. Log burner for those cool winter evenings, this an ideal all year round holiday experience.
Above ground swimming pool (4.6 meter round pool) NB. pool is out of commission during winter months.
The open plan living area offers a comfortable relaxing space with a fully fitted kitchen including oven/hob/dishwasher/fridge freezer/microwave etc Seating for dining when visitors wish to eat inside. The lounge area has a flat screen TV and DVD player and a well stocked bookcase for easy holiday reading.
Downstairs is also the spacious bathroom containing washing machine/tumble dryer and shower /WC/wash hand basin.
Sleeps 4 very comfortably, but can accommodate 2 extra people on futon chair beds.
The open plan staircase takes you to the twin bedroom. which has two single beds, dressing table, large chest of drawers and hanging space as well as bedside tables with own balcony and views to the mountains, Door leading to the second bedroom which has a double bed, dressing table, large chest of drawers and hanging space with balcony and views of the Ionian sea.
A travel cot is available on request.
Towels and linen are provided.
Unfortunately the property is unsuitable for wheelchairs.
Plenty of outside space for sun and shade including a patio with BBQ and dining area as well as somewhere to relax on the sun loungers with a good book to complete your holiday mood. Guests are welcome to explore the rest of the garden area containing fruit and olive trees, a pond and many wild flowers.
The Peloponnese is a rugged area with many mountains and unspoiled beaches Many tourist attractions such as Ancient Olympia,Corinthian canal, Ancient Messini, Epidavros, Monemvasia and Sparta, hot springs and spa of Kaifes as well as day trips to the islands of Kefalonia and Zante to name but a few. For golf lovers Costa Navarino Golf resort is about 40 minutes drive away.
The local area is ideal for walking and trekking with many tracks and paths leading to small chapels and churches..a step back in time.
The small town of Kyparissia is about 4km away and has all the amenities you will need for your stay. Tavernas, bars, cafes, restaurants, supermarkets, chemists, butchers and many bakeries. There are the ruins of a Byzantine-Frankish castle in the upper/old part of town. The castle is free entry and has the most beautiful views of of the whole bay and town.
The stretch of coast between Kyparissia and Pyrgos has been untouched by tourism and has some of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in the Peloponnese, including a 60 km stretch running from Kyparissia on many of these beaches we have loggerhead turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and they can be seen swimming off the coast.
Kyparissia is about 3 hours drive from Athens airport, 1 hour from Kalamata airport and 2 hours from Patras (Araxos) airport. Many european airlines operate including Easyjet, British airways, Ryanair, Monarch and Olympic airways. Hire cars can be collected at the airports. If arriving by ferry from Italy the port of Patras is 2 hours.

Summary: We had an amazing holiday, the cabin was everything we expected and more - spotlessly clean, well equipped and in a great location. Bernadette and Rod were excellent hosts, attentive but also discrete. There was a welcome pack when we arrived which was very helpful as it was Sunday and the supermarkets were closed. We loved exploring the area as well as staying by the pool which was bigger than we expected and also kept spotlessly clean. We would love to visit again!

Summary: What a great time we had at The Cabin! Bernadette and Rod greeted us on our arrival and it was clear from the outset that they’d thought of everything. The accommodation was extremely well equipped and they had provided groceries for our first meal, homemade jams, cakes and fruit from their trees - we couldn’t have asked for more. The location was spot on, and following Bernadette and Rod’s recommendations we visited waterfalls at Polilmnio, Agrili at sunset and Ancient Olympia for the day with a highlight being the beautiful Voidikilia beach near Pylos. We interspersed days out with days at the cabin, relaxing in the pool. Our teenage children loved it (13 and 15). We would highly recommend a visit and will be telling all our friends, Thank you Bernadette and Rod!

Summary: We highly recommend a stay at The Cabin. Bernadette and Rod are fantastic hosts - incredibly hospitable and thoughtful. We have had an amazing holiday in this beautiful part of Greece. Stunning views of the sea from the front and equally stunning mountain views from the back. Our children absolutely loved the pool - especially as it was a very welcoming 30 degrees. The beaches are beautiful, particularly Voidakilia near Pylos, with its crystal clear water. There are so many things to see and do, you’re spoilt for choice. We really enjoyed visiting Ancient Olympia and Nestor’s Palace, and there are many more ancient sites we would have liked to have visited if we’d had the time. Thank you Bernadette and Rod, we had a truly wonderful holiday.

Summary: Rod and Bernadette made us feel very welcome at arrival. And our three-week stay at the Cabin has been fantastic. Every morning breakfast surrounded by the olive trees, a view to the sea and the mountains, nice and good equipped kitchen, afternoons cooling down in the pool, outside dinners hearing the bells of the sheep, picking figs from the trees, reading our kids to bed on the balcony looking at the sunset. Everything well-equipped and very clean. Beautiful area with lots of things to do and visit. And excellent beaches. Thank you Rod and Bernadette for our wonderful Mediterreanean holiday. Summary: From the moment we arrived we felt at home, Bernadette and Rod were perfect hosts giving us details of the surrounding area. They left us a welcome pack which was very thoughtful The Cabin is idyllic set in olive groves backed by mountains, it is far away from tourists which is fantastic. The pool and outside area are delightful and we spent many hours outside day and evening The Cabin itself is fabulous, the layout is open and it has been furnished to a very high standard. You want for nothing during your stay here. We have stayed in various parts of the Peleponnese in the last few years but we have to say that this is one of our favorites and we will be back Elaine, Martin and Daniel

Summary: We were lucky enough to have found The Cabin, which we stayed in for 2 weeks in September 2016. It was absolutely perfect in every way, stunning location and you would be hard pushed to find a better holiday home. Absolutely everything has been thought about, kitchen cupboards well stocked too. The owners, Rod & Bernadette are also the most perfect hosts and are always there should you need them and because we arrived on a Sunday when shops are shut, they bought enough provisions in for us to eat and drink in the evening - that's the level of thoughtfulness that comes with them. The location is perfect for a rural retreat but is also just 5 minutes away from the nearest town. There are some gorgeous sandy beaches all around which are quiet so you have plenty of space around you. This is a great location for seeing the real Greece rather than just being in a tourist trap - lots of history around ie: Olympia & ancient monuments to visit, waterfalls and drive up in the mountains to a stunning Port to the South (Pylos) and wonderful secluded beaches and villages you find on your travels. Summary: Wonderful accommodation in very peaceful surroundings. The owners seemed to think of everything we might need. Beaches great...and empty at this time of year. Easy to find, but secluded and felt like we were in our own little paradise. Only problem ...was we only had a few days, so will be booking to come back again before the season finishes.

Summary: The cabin was an ideal base for our holiday (family of 4 - children aged 10 & 12). The property was incredibly well equipped and the welcome grocery supplies were more than we've had anywhere else (including homemade olive oil!) - and very welcome. Bernadette and Rod couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful and happy to answer questions about places to go/directions/recommendations. The area is a low key, rural part of Greece and not over run with tourists which was great - plenty of space on the beaches. Highlights of our holiday were spending lots of time in the pool, watching the sunset at Agrili, walking up the mountain behind the house (an early morning start to miss the heat but well worth it), Polilimnus waterfalls, the Tholos tombs and ancient Messini. We would definitely come back to this part of Greece, and would stay at the Cabin again.

Summary: We are a family with 3 kids and we spent few days in this wonderful and peaceful house. The Cabin is spacious, clean and well-maintained, perfect for a relaxing holiday. The house is within 1 hour drive from many beautiful beaches and historical sites. Rod and Bernadette are extremely friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone!
