Positive: Excellent stopover or base just outside a pretty village, ideal for visiting the Limoges region, activities and particularly Oradour sur Glane. The converted and modernised farmhouse is set in a beautiful location, with a pool and lovely gardens and grounds. There seemed to be some nearby working farm buildings but no disturbance experienced. Rooms are large and have good quality period and local furniture. The hosts are bilingual, friendly and helpful, for example sending very good restaurant suggestions in advance and suggesting which were worth booking in advance. Breakfast is basic but included in the price

Negative: As advertised the large twin room shared a bathroom with another room. This caused no difficulties whatsoever. The owner told me that further upgrades of the rooms are planned.

Positive: Les Picardies has everything you would hope for in a French holiday stay. Beautifully restored old farmhouse in lovely surroundings. The swimming pool is an obvious plus. Our room (the twin bedded) had very comfortable beds and perfect linen and pillows. Everything was spotless. Em and Martin are the perfect hosts, entertaining and very knowledgeable about the surroundings. Additionally Martin is a bit of a wine expert - perfect if you need advice on what to buy while you are in France. We had the best croissants and baguette for breakfast and nice strong hot coffee. We will definitely be back

Positive: Very welcoming hosts, friendly and good sense of humour. Fabulous room and facilities. After a long day travelling the hosts offered an evening snack accompanied with a refreshing beer and excellent wine. Good parking for our two cars both towing trailers carrying classic cars. Also met some very friendly neighbours.

Negative: Not being able to stay longer and explore the area. Unfortunately the weather was uncharacteristic and was unable to enjoy the external facilities.

Summary: Highly recommend the property and hopefully return later in the year.

Positive: We loved the tranquillity of the accommodate with excellent facilities. Our hosts were very accommodating and advised well on excellent local places to go for dinner.
