Positive: The location is lovely, a little distance from Fontevraud I'Abbaye in very old and lovely buildings. The breakfast was good and we were able to eat it outside. Parking was easy and convenient. Our room was also lovely with antique furniture, a large bed and good quality bedding. The location was good for accessing the Abbey by car.

Negative: When I booked the room, there was some difficulty in having my card accepted, though it had been accepted by several other hosts. Having tried an alternative card, I asked this venue not to cancel, as we were very keen to visit the abbey. They agreed as long as we paid the costs on arrival. When we did arrive, two members of staff who spoke no English stated that I'd reserved 2 rooms and that I needed to pay for them. This wasn't the case, but the discussion was difficult until a third staff member, who spoke English arrived. She said the venue had turned down a potential customer because I'd reserved 2 rooms. I pointed out that this was nothing to do with me. This dispute was resolved and my payment (for one room) accepted rather grudgingly. It left a rather unfortunate taste.

Positive: Everything!! A lovely warm welcome to start. Beautiful room stylishly decorated. Fantastic indoor pool. Excellent breakfast. Can’t rate it all highly enough.

Positive: The full location is beautiful, great rooms, very good breakfast and good restaurant. The welcome is very family way since you feel comfortable.

Negative: If you stay more than 3 days the menu at the restaurant is always the same even if is really good.

Positive: Our third visit. Loved the historic atmosphere the quaint rooms, the tiny mediaeval chapel and the fact the house has been in the same family for more than 200 years. A good restaurant too.
