Positive: Michel and Asja share their beautiful family home , ranch and indoor heated pool with guests who seek an idyllic farm life with all comforts of home. You can see Michel’s love for life through his interests in restoration, Horses , Aircrafts and the culinary crafts. We had an amazing time feeding the beautiful horses and my husband went flying with Michel in his small glider to catch an early morning sunrise. We would recommend La Maison Souhey to anyone looking for an authentic French countryside experience.

Negative: Nothing ! Could’ve stayed longer.

Positive: It was a lovely property with really comfortable beds, and the room was very spacious. The availabilty of drinks that you could purchase from the fridge was a really good idea as you were a little distance away from the nearest town. There was a handy communal kitchen and dining area and it was a very quiet location. The owners were very warm and welcoming.

Negative: I would have liked a tv in the room but I understand that it could have kept others in the building awake.

Positive: We had the pleasure of staying at La Maison de Souhey, and it was an unforgettable experience. This newly renovated hotel is a true gem in the beautiful Burgundy region. The accommodations are modern, comfortable, and tastefully designed, making our stay both relaxing and enjoyable. A standout feature of our visit was the culinary experience. The owner is an excellent chef, and the communal breakfasts and dinners were highlights of our stay. Each meal was a delightful showcase of local flavors, enjoyed in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Burgundy itself offers a wealth of experiences. We visited the world-famous Romanée-Conti vineyard, known for producing the most expensive wine in the world, and explored Dijon, with its vibrant food market and the impressive Cité Internationale de la Gastronomie et du Vin. In Beaune, we toured the historic Hospices de Beaune and visited La Moutarderie Fallot, where we learned about mustard-making. Another culinary highlight was dining at La Cuisine de la Fontaignotte in Semur-en-Auxois. Thanks to the owner's help, we secured a reservation at this popular gourmet restaurant. It’s highly recommended, but be sure to book early. Flavigny-sur-Ozerain was another must-see. We enjoyed delicious local beer with a stunning view at Brasserie de Flavigny. Finally, we visited Château de Savigny-lès-Beaune, which features an incredible collection of planes, racing cars, and motorcycles—a must for history and motor enthusiasts. In short, La Maison de Souhey and the Burgundy region exceeded our expectations. Whether you’re looking for relaxation, culture, or culinary delights, this is the perfect destination. Highly recommended!

Positive: The two rooms were perfect for our family. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the kitchen facilities worked well for us. The air conditioning was appreciated due to warm summer weather. The hosts were really engaging and helpful. The group meal with the host and other guests added to the experience. The food tasted great and it had a home cooked family feel. The hosts were helpful in providing details on the local area. The kids loved the pool and we really enjoyed the local Gaul/ Roman museum. There's loads to do in the area and we spent a lovely evening in a local historical town. A great start to our holiday, we highly recommend.

Positive: Michel and Asja were the perfect hosts, happy to accommodate and assist with whatever we needed. The setting was so relaxing and refreshing. A beautiful view, horses and a friendly dog to pat, a pleasant, home cooked meal, a quality bottle of wine and great company. We could not have asked for anything more. It was fantastic!

Michel is an excellent, welcoming host, who makes the place feel like home from home (but with a much better breakfast, a characterful terrier to entertain you, and horses that love a visit from guests and a cuddle!). An ideal place for families traveling north to south or vice versa to stop for a few days to experience the beautiful Bourgogne countryside.
