Summary: This was our 2nd stay for the Braderie and the hotel is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good and all very stylish. The service however was bad. The maid left our room completely unlocked 3 times. We alerted reception but each day had to request refreshed glasses/mugs and to lock the room. I met the maid and asked her and after that she left the full set of skeleton keys for the hotel in our unlocked door. The bar manager was aloof and too busy chatting with his colleague to serve anyone promptly. A few other guests complained. The night manager was gracious and pleasant clearly properly trained to work in hospitality and comped us breakfast and a few other things so all ok in the end We paid up the night before we left. On leaving 3 grown men at reception watched idly whilst we made 3 trips to our car - pretty poor. And if you are going to speak critically about your customers on earshot make sure they don't speak french. Not what I would expect from a Marriott

Summary: It was lovely from outside but quite old and needed attention inside. Reception staff great but bad staff very slow and inattentive. Pool was very dingy and dark and very noisy filtration or water system. Steam room smelt musty.

Summary: A special building with a lot of character in the rooms, comfortable furniture. Nice bath robes and slippers provided to access the pool and steam room.

Summary: This was my second stay at this luxurious hotel. My room was not as nice as the previous one, there was no view from the window and it was a little sombre, however I really enjoyed the pool and hammam again

Summary: When I checked out I was asked if I enjoyed my stay and I can say that I answered with honesty when I said YES. All in all I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. Feedback for the hotel as follows: Staff were exceptional. Very polite and helpful. Facilities are getting tired. If this Hotel wants to retain its 5* rating and measure up to other 5* hotels then they need to invest. 1st room we had had faulty AC. Staff, being excellent as ever, immediately moved us to another room. Here we had working AC but the curtains did not fully shut properly or meet in the middle so we had daylight streaming in first thing in the am. Small issue but also very easy to fix. The decor is starting to look very dated with threadbare carpets in the halls etc. The building itself is fantastic and with some investment in decor this could be a truly amazing destination hotel. Aside of the wearing furnishings, some small details like addressing the lack of cushions on the outdoor plastic rattan seats in the courtyard should be very simple to fix. Last recommendation - the weekend piano player in the lounge just seems very dated. No offence to him, he was good but it was like being transported to business hotel in the 90s :-) Anyway, this is also just personal feedback and I go back to my initial point. We very much enjoyed the stay. The hotel is in great location, the staff are great and Lille itself is an absolute hidden gem. We will be back!
