Positive: This is a truly beautiful house . A 127 year old house of I'll repute , full of character and charm . In a quiet village area but only 10mins by easy train from a bustling town and 25 by train to Kyoto. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Negative: I only have one niggle which is the mattress was so unbelievably hard. I believe it is the traditional way and mattresses are a matter of personal preference.

Positive: I really like the history of the place oozing out of every corner of the old house. I slept in room 102 which had an Egyptian theme and was very comfortable. The care taker told me about the very interesting history of the place.

Negative: Try to sleep in a room away from the street as the old walls and windows are thin. A common room to sit and chat with others would have been nice as a solo traveller.

Positive: Had a very nice to stay at Kyoto House, was really well welcomed by the host, Hassan will make you feel at home. It's a lovely place, part of a total of 3 being recovered, with lots of inspiration and cool architecture that will make you feel like you're a vintage guesthouse like in the movie's, but with a modern touch, just amazing!

Positive: Small house in a very rural area of Kyoto. The house has a very traditional style, and is located close to the JR Hashimoto station, from which you can get to Kyotos best spots in approximately 45 mins to 1 hour. Bathroom and toilet are shared.

Negative: The walls are typical for a traditional Japanese house, quite thin and therefore you can hear other guests talking.
