Positive: The owner was funny and really helpful with the explanations of what to do and see in Koyasan. He helped us write down a sing in japanese to hitchhike to our next destination the next day (1 hour drive bus line closed). We made it thanks to him! Amazing rooms and some food included. Thank you!

Positive: This is a lovely spot. Do not worry if you are not able to get 'temple accommodation'. Tommy's more than makes up for it. A lovely couple own this place which is clean and comfortable. Super close to everything in town and the temples. The proprietor is super responsive and has all sorts of great information that he shares to ensure you have a great visit in this very special town of Koya -san. We were able to experience a fire ceremony, bell tolling and morning chanting with the monks thanks to his guidance. They also have all sorts of lovely treats laid out in the spacious guest room

Positive: Super friendly host, he explained Koyasan in detail and showed which ceremonies could be joined without staying in a Shukubo. He had a binder available for all the guess with all this information. Amenities are provided daily (noodles, snacks, water, etc).
