Positive: Food was great Staff was very attentive The owner was very nice Great stop and 10min walk to train station

Positive: I read about this ryokan from craigmod’s blog and was really happy that we managed to stay there. We loved this traditional ryokan and appreciate the hard work and sincerity put in by generations of this family to upkeep their inn in a beautiful state. The food they prepared for us was so delicious. The hospitality unmatched to the extent that elder Iwaya okami san with her walking stick bid farewell to us with her bows and waves till we are out of sight.

Positive: The building is historic and close to the shops and train station.

Negative: The bidet in my room’s toilet did not work. The onsen on the 4th floor was run-down and not impressive. The dining room staff were hurrying us through our meal by serving everything so quickly.

Summary: The hotel should provide better service overall since we paid so much for a big room. I would look to stay at somewhere
