Positive: Very nice staff and Mark was super helpful giving advice on where to eat and giving recommendations on where to go and how to get there easily. Had a great time there and loved the vibe of the building.

Positive: Great location for walking around, and not as difficult to find as expected! room was small and a bit dark, but as sleeping it didnt matter, bed was comfy and it had great A/C - loved the courtyard and the roof terrace, great for an afternoon relaxing after lots of sightseeing. Its also good that they have drinks and snacks to buy and breakfast is self service with eggs, toast & jam on hand from 7,30 along with juice and fruit. They also happily took our bag for a few nights when we left Beijing for a few days, which was really helpful. Great recomendations for eating out and sorting out a car to the airport. Mark was such a great host, always onhand either by email with super fast responses before we arrived, or to talk to when we arrived, he even messaged us whilst we were out suggesting places to eat.

Negative: The bathroom is a bit tired and could do with some redecoration, but its quirky and functional which we are happy with. the room felt a bit dark but that was actually a good thing at night, so overall didnt bother us.

Summary: A lovely quirky eclectic find within the Hutongs of Beijing, very casual and we enjoed our stay

Positive: Very nice and authentic style of both rooms and the shared inner courtyard. Staff was very friendly and helped us with all of our bags. There are lots of cooled beverages for basically store price available at the entrance for any guest to buy. The beds were very comfy. The location is also supreme, with close proximity to major tourist attractions and lots of restaurants.

Negative: Breakfast and sound insulation of the rooms could use some improvements. Also, some windows of the inner courtyard roof have shattered but still remain, which feels a bit unsafe if they were to completely break. Maybe it's totally safe, but it looks rather scary.

Negative: The bathroom is a wet room, separated from the main room only by a glass window and door (not great for privacy when travelling with a friend). Felt like a hostel but priced as a hotel.
