Positive: The location is great, the host was hospitable and welcoming, the apartment is big. We loved the terase view and the garden, the fact that there is free parking available, the beach is really close.

Negative: The furniture might need some improvement, especially the beds which are squeaky and making noises while we moved during sleep.

Positive: The village of Koutsoupia (Kokkino Nero) is charming, quiet, and surrounded by stunning mountains. Kandilari Apartments offer the best of both worlds with a superb location boasting sea and mountain views. The air and climate are wonderful, making it a refreshing escape. This was our first visit to this part of Greece (we typically vacation in Halkidiki), and we found it far superior. The water is crystal clear, and the beach is spacious - qualities often lacking in Halkidiki. (In the close vicinity there are also other smaller, beautiful natural beaches, be sure to visit them.) The host is exceptionally polite, speaks fluent English, and frequently checks in to ensure your needs are met. Koutsoupia is ideal for a romantic, secluded getaway, perfect for relaxation rather than nightlife. Nestled in a kind of bay, the village exudes a unique charm.

Negative: The apartment’s furniture is somewhat dated, though this didn’t detract from our stay. There are no window screens, but mosquitoes weren’t an issue, so we slept with the windows open, covered by curtains. Some guests mentioned concerns about the toilet, but we found it typical for Greek vacation rentals - yes, it's narrow, but nothing that impacted our experience; you shower and move on with your day. The village has limited amenities: just one shop, one café, and two restaurants. There’s no pharmacy for miles, but this shouldn’t be an issue if you’re traveling by car.
