Positive: The hotel was older style onsen hotel on top of hill. Was a nice welcoming hotel, every guest got a yukata to wear around the hotel. Our package included breakfast and dinner and because we stayed 3 nights, the staff realised we stayed longer than probably the usual 1, each night they prepared a little extra for us like sukiyaki, grilled meats etc, as the buffets were same each day. Some of the wait staff we dealt with was very attentive and lovely to deal with.

Negative: I didn't realise the room we originally booked didn't have it's own shower/bath and my kids were not yet comfortable using onsen so after first night, we requested to move to different room. Staff was able to accommodate and moved us to room with own hot tub and shower on 2nd day, however we had to check out of our room as per normal procedure by 10am and then we couldn't go to the new room until check in time at 3pm even though there was no one in that room prior. Also when we communicated the upgrade cost, there must of been a miscommunication with manager, translating staff and us as we were under the impression price quoted ie approx $200 aud extra was for the remaining two nights as a total which we thought was reasonable however upon checking out, the price quoted was for each night so we end up having to pay extra $400 aud approximately, totalling almost $1300 for 3 nights, which is very expensive. Communication was a difficult so we didn't want to bother arguing about it.

Summary: Overall nice onsen hotel in quiet area with limited english

Positive: The room was spacious and the buffer had a good variety and had pork and chicken in addition to seafood.

Negative: It would be good to have bedside lighting for reading

Positive: Property was on top of a hill which provided amazing views. The staff were amazing and the interior of the room is spectacular.

Positive: Beautiful onsen hotel with decent food. Clean and spacious junior suite. However, the superior twin is quite small. The amenities (availability of private onsen hire or entertainment) in the hotel were limited but all essentials are available. Overall very happy.
