Positive: Beautiful property. Quiet and secluded.

Negative: Too many decorative pillows and fluffy rugs. One of the beds doesn’t have a frame, and was like sleeping on a marshmallow. The furnace is loud when it turns off and startled us awake. The water smells like sulfur and it was awful. Finally, the worst part for us was that the toilets are tiny and low and they offer 1-ply toilet paper. It sure made things uncomfortable and complicated.

Summary: We booked for two nights but only stayed one.

Positive: Quite and great outdoor setting. Lots to enjoy- games etc. You need to stay a week to really enjoy this type of property. We did not even turn on TV - to many other outdoor things to do.

Negative: Was not anything not to like.

Summary: Everyone enjoyed the stay - including the dog.

Positive: What a sweet spot! Comfortable & clean in an excellent, secluded location. The photos don’t do the outdoor space and the lake justice. Our three generation family had a great time using the house as home base to explore the three units of the John Day Fossil Beds and other nearby attractions, with plenty of relaxation time too. It was in the 90s every day which was perfect for paddleboarding and swimming in the lake.

Positive: It was terrific. Isolated and pretty surroundings yet close to the John Day attractions. There wasn't much the hosts hadn't thought of to make our stay homey and comfortable.
