Positive: Beautiful home and property. Very well located. Close to the town and a lot of wine farms and attractions.

Negative: There was a double booking which meant we had to stay in the cottage for the first night. The host was very apologetic and refunded us for the one night's stay. Although, I understand these things happen, having to move between the cottage and the house (even though they are on the same property) was disruptive and a challenge with a toddler and a newborn. Having said all of that, the host was great and handled the unfortunate situation very well. Lastly, there is no wifi which was a definite negative for us.

Summary: Great place! We will definitely be back.

Positive: Jackson's House is nestled in the outskirts of Tulbagh, offering spectacular vistas of the surrounding mountains, serene pastures with sheep, and a well-tended garden filled with roses. The heritage building is pristine condition. It is spotlessly clean, well-equipped and comfortably accommodates 7 people. Some highlights include the verandah with a gorgeous old grape vine growing over it, and the large banquet table in the dining room. Rohan was friendly, efficient and helpful. We had a beautiful getaway weekend here and will definitely recommend it to anybody looking for a rural yet cosy retreat to a stunning part of South Africa.

Negative: They could provide more detailed information on the online listing - exactly how many beds/bedrooms/bathrooms there are, whether or not there are braai facilities, and the fact that there is no wifi :)
