Summary: Not a 4 star hotel. Very fated and in desperate need if a refurb and a giod clean. It was like stepping back into the 70s. The room was fithy and there were 2 people running the whole place that were running around everywhere looking stressed. Not the relaxing break we were hoping for

Summary: Irton Hall is a historic property in a quiet part of the Lake District but near to Eskdale, Wasdale and Ravenglass. They have kept the original buildings (no concrete hotel block behind) and the open lawn, across which a multitude of peacocks march around. The food in the bar was far better than normal bar food - my venison must have been stewed for hours, it was so dark, rich and tasty! Game pie was good too.

Summary: Beautiful building and property. Spacious rooms with decent wifi, fridge, fan and comfortable chairs and bed. Good restaurant in the building too. Enjoyed the critters in the yard: cats, peacocks, Guinea hens, chickens, geese, and scrunchy faced pigs. Would have loved to have stayed longer.

Summary: Very nice grounds and grand looking property. Rooms need updating. Couldnt see any view unless stood right by the small windows and then it was only the tops of nearby trees and the rubbish bins. Staff were very nice and breakfast was A1
