Positive: This property is beautifully appointed with a lovely outlook, great book collection and well equipped kitchen. It is in easy walking distance of two pubs, the first being very friendly with a good dinner menu.
Negative: The steep stairs to the first floor bedrooms may be difficult for some but we found them easy enough. There is a faint dog odour but being dog people we didn’t mind it. Just wish we’d had longer to stay and enjoy.
Summary: Great hideaway for a family that’s comfortable and well located

Positive: We absolutely loved this property and chose it specifically for its fantastic location close to Scafell Pike, which we climbed during our stay. The setting was beautiful, and it was amazing watching people pass by on the steam train. Such a lovely touch to the experience. The beds were honestly the most comfortable I’ve ever slept in away from home, and that’s saying something because I usually think my own bed is the best! We had the best night’s sleep here.
Negative: The only slight downside was that, although we understand the property is pet friendly, there was quite a noticeable smell of dogs in the house.
