Summary: I recently completed a 5-night stay at the Intercontinental Muscat. While there were some truly standout moments, certain aspects of the service did not quite meet the expectations of a luxury brand. The Highlights: A Masterclass in Breakfast The absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast. I would give it a "Star Plus" for presentation, product quality, and taste. More importantly, the culinary team—from the Executive Chef to the junior staff—was incredibly warm and welcoming. They truly made us feel at home, and their hospitality in the dining area was the highlight of our mornings. The Room and Housekeeping The cleanliness of the hotel was satisfactory and met basic standards, though there is room for a bit more attention to detail to truly elevate the guest experience. Areas for Improvement Front Office & Reception: Unfortunately, the attitude of the reception staff was disappointing. We did not feel the level of welcome or professionalism one expects at an Intercontinental property. Special Occasion Handling: I had informed the hotel well in advance of my wife’s birthday. Despite this, there was no recognition or even a simple birthday cake provided upon arrival. When I inquired, the staff claimed they attempted to deliver a cake but couldn't because the "Do Not Disturb" (DND) sign was on. This was unfortunately an excuse, as we never activated the the DND sign during our entire stay.

Summary: Intercontinental Muscat made us genuinely feel cared for. From the moment we arrived, there was a calmness and warmth and warmth to the hotel that stayed with us throughout the entire visit. The property itself is beautifully designed in a way that feels deeply connected to Omani elegance. Traditional without feeling outdated, refined. Everything felt intentional: the architecture, the atmosphere, the gardens, the cleanliness, the quietness. A true sense of quiet luxury. What we will remember most is the staff’s hospitality. Breakfast each morning (we stayed 12 nights) became more than just breakfast. It became one of the highlights of our stay because of the hospitality and attention we experienced every single day.

Summary: Usually the check in time at 3 pm , I arrived to hotel at 9:30 am . I spoke with front end person and I explained to him I arrived too early from long trip . my room was not ready but the person in front end offer me temporary room until my room ready . . staff in the hotel very helpful , working too hard

Summary: Return visit with what continues to be a fantastic hotel. The staff are exceptional, the rooms spotlessly clean, the pool area very comfortable with ample loungers and breakfasts with excellent choices.

Summary: We had a great stay as a family of 4. Excellent service all round. Breakfast very good, on-site restaurants also good and there are more food options within walking distance. The pools are lovely. The concierge and staff were brilliant, can't do enough for you. We used the salon and gym, both great. The 2 things i would improve - kids club was very basic with no activities organised, and the kids pool could have been heated.

Summary: It’s been quite some time since our last stay, and the property is still very well maintained. Even during Ramadan, the hotel was almost at full occupancy. We requested connecting rooms but didn’t get them..instead, we were given two rooms next to each other. Unfortunately, the first-floor room we received had a disappointing view from the balcony. Apart from that, everything else was excellent.. The paid padel courts were booked most of the time, but the two tennis courts were available and we managed to reserve slots and use them without issue.. The pool was quite crowded in the mornings and afternoons, but it became very peaceful in the evenings, with the water pleasantly warm. We had a great great time there along with the kids.. We especially loved the easy access to the beach, as always. Although we didn’t swim in the sea, it was lovely for evening and early-morning strolls.. The staff were consistently outstanding; special thanks to Mr. Remeesh at Tomato restaurant for his exceptional service.. The breakfast spread at Musandam was impressive and very enjoyable.. Overall, a wonderful stay 👍
